I think the reason I feel guilty is you must still be able to find this book in some bookshop or other for 10.99 as it's only just over 5 years old, they must still be knocking about, whereas the diamond one is ancient and hard to come buy (and clearly not wanted much as nobody has bought it yet!)
I think I'll have to toughen up in this business or I'll drive myself mad with guilt :A
Think of it as you being a personal shopper. I always paid full price for books when I was housebound and didn't realise the ins and outs of Amazon and places like it ... BOL books for instance, that I wouldn't touch with a bargepole.
I don't know what diamonds mean, apart from those people wear, so you'll have to let me know
But don't feel guilty about people paying silly prices. They might have to pay taxi fares to the shop and back to buy whatever it is you're selling, but I do understand0 -

My book on diamonds was discussed many pages back, is basically a book on the scientifics of diamonds ( I bought it at uni for a pound)which appears to be worth rather a lot of money, but it is so obscure nobody has bought it, it would only be needed by a specialist and they obviously don't shop at amazon!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I thought you meant another book site called "diamonds"
But if the book'sso obscure, I'd stick a ridiculous price on it and just lower it.
Did Amazon's own buy it price give an indication?0 -
Becky - have you got diamond the book listed as selling internationally? if so I'd just sit it out and wait, I've sold books that have been listed for 3 years, it will just happen one day.
As my hubs always says 'they don't eat anything and they can't go off'......which is quite true, I think that greengrocers, butchers and bakers are under far more pressure to get stuff sold than we are :rotfl:0 -

How true is that apprentice?0 -
Quick question, I just sold my first book on Amazon. Do I just print off the "packing slip" and include it in the box? or does it need to be the whole email amazon sent me?
The reason I ask is the packing slip has no price mentioned?
Thanks

Hi Rich - well done on the sale, yes - you're right, you send just the bit where it says packing slip, all the rest is your money business not for your customer to see - having said that sometimes when it's been a book that's heavy or has a big fee taken off and you end up with less than the actual purchase price I'm often tempted to put the whole sheet in so that the buyer can see just how much I actually got for the book.
jaybee and ladywood, you have both got off to cracking starts, nice to see some new names joining in :hello:0 -
Hi,
Thanks apprentice tycoon. So its right that there is no price on the packing slip?
Do you normally print a copy of the whole email for your records?
Thanks0 -
I don't print off my emails (other than the packing slip part, which I copy and paste into word), I just store them in a folder called Amazon. I've never needed to refer back to them yet, so will pobably have a purge sometime soon. I just keep the COP in case of non-delivery.0

Yep, it's OK that there is no price for the buyer, it's just the way amazon do it, I don't bother keeping the slips either, amazon keep records of all your transactions (seller account page) I don't want to add more clutter to my life!
As hornetgirl says remember to keep your cert of posting till it arrives, while you're in the post office ask them for a few of the certs so you can get them written up for the next sales, they - and the queue behind you will love you for it.0
