selling your stuff on Amazon...part 2

I hate it when I haven't had a sale for a while. My dining room is cluttered with books and I just can't sell the things.
I need the buzz I get from a sale.

EDIT: I've finally sold one of the books I bought at the auction earlier this month, but on ebay not Amazon. Lets hope it's the first of many as I had made my mind up that I wouldn't go back to the auction unless I sold sufficient books to cover the amount I spent last time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. worldwide? horrors! I thought that they'd all forgotten about the thread by now, it was 7 months ago but it must still be being read.
Maybe they'd want to re-name me as Sorcerers Apprentice because I meddled in things that weren't mine to meddle with :rotfl:0 -
I've just sold two books that I bought from a library sale for next to nothing, so I'm pleased about that. Still no more sales on my auction books though
The best thing is I listed a whole load on ebay and have bids on all but two of them, so at least I'll be getting some profit and more importantly some room in the house.

i'm going to have a bargain book section in my ebay store
figure this way i can be certain to get my postage covered and it will draw people into my store more often ;-)
think i'll also do a bargain video...trying to clear some stuff out and they aren't worth much any more but hey, if it's gets them into my store to look at my OTHER stuff...
seems a good thing to do with the stuff that isn't worth much on amazon
i've left the stuff i'm near certain won't sell at all on risi and have just been letting people contact me... i'm sick of getting crap versions of what's supposedly on offerfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Not a bad idea Holsale.
The benefits of selling some of the cheaper stock on ebay is it works out a lot cheaper for the buyers as well so may attract impulse buyers.
A £1 book on Amazon will cost a buyer £3.75 but after fees the seller gets a very small amount. Sell that same book for 99p on ebay, put the full and actual cost of the post and packing, say another £1.25 and the net income for the seller is about the same but the buyer gets a bargain. Doesn't work as well though for pro merchants on Amazon as my example assumes the 83p per book standard fee.

Ebay stores - so is this a viable alternative to amazon marketplace for those wanting to list until sold, are fees same as ebay except the £6 pm ?
sorry whats RISI- not been to this thread recently, sen it mentionedAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
my amazon sales have picked up this week after being quiet for a while - most of the stuff sold is stuff id had listed from the start tho
very confused - was convinced not to go pro until there is an offer on but in the 2 months ive been on amazon ive sold more than 30 items per month - ohh decisions decisionsSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

where you swap books for other books - no fee other than the cost of posting your book
some of the books on there are good sellers - but be aware that often the book linked to the amazon page is not the one you will get - they are often one of the lesser value copiesSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

an ebay store costs £6/month
it costs 5p to list any amount (of the same item) 1 or 99 still only 5p and if you want gallery it's only 5p as well so for 10p you can list an item (or multiples) for 30 days
the price to list is going down to 3p this month but the final value fee is going up a bit
so for books you'll pretty much pay 3-8p to list and it's for 30days plus you have to pay final value fees (that's normal and cheaper than amazon's!)
now, the shop listings are changing they used to only show up on searches if there wasn't a lot of a particular item. now they will ALWAYS show up but at the end of the list
still it's a good system i simply use auctions (at full fees) with mentions of my shops and a link to the appropriate items i have for sale :blushing:
draws em in and they buy buy buy!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0
