  • I've just tried to estimate what the overdraft will be, and what will be coming out next month and it's left me feeling quite depressed!

Due to the car insurance being more than we budgeted for (and had saved for), we will be putting the car servicing (£220 ) on the Sainsbury's 0% credit card this month, then paying £110 off this month with Feb's tax & insurance saving payment that we usually put in an e-saver, and then £110 off with March's payment. This won't have a knock on effect to that pot as we don't have any more things to pay for out of it until July when it will be £80 for car tax. It's annoying however as we won't technically be credit card debt free this month, even though we're techincally back-paying the car fund and not putting any extra money towards it.

Crikey - I've confused the heck out of myself, so if you've followed that - well done!

All going as well as it can, we'll have £225 over for next month and all the little expenses it brings. It's going to be another tight month. :(

  • 2 x 10p on the scratchcards tonight, 5 free spins won on Jjoy resulting in a £2.25 win.

The pizza dough is in the breadmaker, hopefully raising nicely. I'm going to make and freeze lots of little pizzas for hubby's lunchbox, plus he's made a request for a 'spare' ones when he gets back in from work again tonight! :rotfl:

We spent £9.98 in Sainsbury's on the way home, mostly on fruit, veg and some bits for the pizzas and a couple of things like bread and margarine that we'd run out of. It was put on the card for extra nectar points and the money has been transferred over.

Off to play the domestic goddess...

  • I know what you mean about things ticking over at the moment. Despite being on track to earn an extra £15 a day in February, there is little evidence of it in my bank balance. Admittedly, some hasn't been paid to me yet, but I think I need to keep track of where it is all going.

I did another clothes MS today and need to summon up the energy to input it. I thought that was going to be it for a few days, but have just applied for an urgent job for tomorrow, so we'll see if that materialises. It's only 2 streets away from my flat so would be handy if I did get it.

In good news, I have a relisted item on Ebay (I think it has been on about 3 weeks!) and notice that someone has bid on it today which is great :j. The auction doesn't end until Sunday, but I don't care; just pleased it willl definitely go this time. Weird it has taken so long as it is some recentish clothing with tags that unfortunately don't quite fit and I can't take them back. I see the next couple of days are free listing days on Ebay. I am off work tomorrow, so might see if I can get a couple of things listed.

  • Great news on that ebay item Chocs. It is odd how sometimes an item needs relisting a couple of times to sell - I've had similar auctions too. At the moment, I'd just be grateful if the last person pays me! I'm considering offering it as a second chance to the next bidder as that was only 20p less than the winning bid, however, I think I have to wait until I can report it as non-payment.

I hope the urgent mystery shop materialises for you too. At least it's close by so won't take a lot of travelling. Enjoy your day off today!
  • The troublesome ebayer has just paid, so there's another £12.50 winging its way to the bank account. :)
  • Good news on the Ebay receipt - at last!

Well I was just thinking the MS must have been allocated to someone else, but never mind as it had started snowing, when I got a message that it did need doing after all . Anyway, it went OK, so that's most of my £15 for the day.

It looks like a good night of TV tonight (OK, I have low standards :rotfl:), so I think I'm going to splurge and leave the myriad of things I could be doing for another day.

And it is nearly the weekend :D

  • I went out for a little day trip with friends on Saturday and went to the extent of not having any lunch (whilst everyone else picked up fish & chips) to save money. I wasn't particularly hungry, but really didn't want to spend any cash either. :o Our friends kindly bought me dinner in the evening so I didn't spend any money all day.

Unfortunately today wasn't so frugal. The car needed petrol (£38), and we needed to pick up some grocery essentials for the week (£30) as we've run out of a lot of things.

My ebay item didn't sell either :(, so it's been relisted.

We've both been feeling very down today about the debts and lack of money and so on. There were a few tears this morning; the constant struggle is getting su down a little again and spending the day with very well off friends doesn't really help - especially when they're viewing stunning new houses that we would never be able to afford. Although they're wonderful friends, they talk about money a lot and it's very frustrating and leaves me feeling like a complete failure.
    Onwards and upwards though eh?

you WILL get there. Allow yourself these crap days as we can only be so motivated for so long and then hit a brick wall, it's natural.

Hope tomorrow is brighter for you
  • Ah, that's not good. I'm sorry you are feeling low and send my best wishes. I don't blame you for feeling down when you have been on this debtbusting journey for a long time and see others spending apparently care free.

Just think, you will become debt free and there will be a time when you can go on a day out without worrying about the cost. The budget may never stretch to a half million pound house, but fish and chips should be OK ;).

Here's to a better week. And it must be payday soon....

A failure would be someone that ignores it and carries on regardless. You're brave; strong and inspiring. All you can be is the best version of you and I think that's pretty good! :)
