Hi DFSD, If the loan's interested is worked out/added month it might be better to pay it like that unless you can get a higher interest savings account?
Fingers crossed that the work pay works out in your favour an extra £600 a year I'm sure would be very helpfulxx

Another late night and just eating my tea... I am siding with Raini. Interest rates on savings are very low so I suspect you will be better off overpaying the loan.
April is new tax year time and there is competition between the banks and building societies to get ISA customers locked in for the tax year, so it might be worth a look on Quidco at that time to see if there are any good offers for opening an ISA. Even if you only use it to save, say, £10 a month, they might give you some nice free money or vouchers out of it.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -
Thanks for your advice guys, I'm going to set up a standing order to overpay from March /April; it definitely seems like the wisest option. I can't wait to see that balance going down!0

I think sometimes it's more motivation to pay off some each month rather than save up to pay it all off in one go.0

This morning I need to write an email of complaint to Sainsbury's after receiving some fresh produce last night with a use by date of yesterday. It looks a bit iffy already too so will be thrown out tonight. I tried to phone up last night to get a refund, but after being passed to 4 different people, and being put on hold 3 times, I hung up after 12 minutes. They're usually very good with use by dates so hopefully it's a one off.
I completed another survey this morning, hopefully they'll get back to me soon with my login details so I can see where we are with that account.
The sofa payment is due to come out in the next few days, leaving the outstanding balance at £721. Will be nice to have an extra £103 a month in October when that's paid off too, thankfully it's 0% though so I son't need to worry about interest on that one.
I entered a few competitions yesterday. I haven't done any for ages as I got fed up with doing them, but I will try and do a few now and then when I have a spare 10 minutes.
Hubby has put one of the M&S 3 for £10 herby turkey joints in the slow cooker this morning for tonight's dinner.I think we still have a couple more things from that deal in the freezer too.
Halfway through the working week now, let's hope the other half of the week goes much quicker!

Yes, I think you're right Yukki - I can quite imagine some of that savings pot being used on 'other things' if we get short of money or something too and the loan would then take longer to pay off.0 -
I would keep on at Sainsburys. Thats unacceptable and don't settle for bad telephone service on top of the original complaint! The pot luck with use by dates is one of the reasons I don't really like buying perishables via the internet. I am sure the picking staff get encouraged to use up the oldest stuff and try and get shot of it!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I had to complain to sainsburys once over a 48p packet of couscous. When they phoned me they told me that they had charged me £28 too much for potatoes!? (they hadn't) but who was I to complain when they put the £28 back in my bank account.0
-
£28? Were you buying a whole field of potatoes?! :rotfl:
I received an email reply yesterday from Sainsburys - £1 e-voucher refund, an apology and reassurance they'll speak to the staff about picking long dates. Not a great reply really, but never mind.
50p & 10p on the scratchcards yesterday; no further movement on the ebay items. There are quite a few watchers on them but still very low bids and no one else seems to be bidding.
There's 3 days left though, so there's still time.

I don't think I'd even bought any potatoes though that was the thing lol0
