  • Hee hee - thanks YB - you made me chuckle when I saw that! Feel very proud of my '7' though and promise to try and give it another little '7' friend soon!

As for wages, yeah, it's the most I've ever earned, I guess it's just the green-eyed-monster coming out in me when many of my friends earn more than double that. I just couldn't imagine what it would be like to have that much money coming in a month!

I'm just going to be grateful for what I have as I know it is a good wage and I am very lucky in many other ways.

  • Just goes to show why I'm in debt - I can't count! 5lbs + 4lbs = 9lbs, not 7lbs... So I've actually lost 9lbs - woo hoo! :j:D:j

I've spent £8.48 this morning on two more Christmas gifts from the Play .com sale, with free delivery and cashback through Quidco.

  • You sound like you are having a better day. Always nice to have some money coming in.... have to wait a few more days for my pay day. And well done on the weight loss - that sounds like a lot and very impressive you are doing this on your own.

Can't believe how many people have mentioned the C word this week. If I start the shopping in November I think I'm being super organised.

Wow well done on the weight loss. That's something to definetly keep you motivated.

Would love to earn an extra £40 a Week. Trying to find ways to :-)
  • Thanks guys! Yeah, am quite proud of myself and my 'healthy eating regime' at the moment. :o:D

Spent another £25 yesterday on a birthday present (close family one so a bit more expensive than most!), so have £125 left for 'stuff'.

Tonight I'm going to spend a little more of that and buy a few shelves that are on sale in Homebase which will come to about £15, and maybe a plant and plant pot for the house. Will be spending no more than £25 in total, leaving me with a rounded £100 for the rest of the month then, and will be picking up some more nectar points at Homebase too :D. (Nectar points are coming along nicely - we're saving them to buy ourselves some 'treats' in the grocery shop at Christmas time :D).

Out of the remaining £100, I just need to buy 1 more birthday present which I anticipate will be a spend of about £10.

I am actually rounding up all of these purchases too - for example, the bday pressie yesterday was £24-something, so I've allowed £25 out of the budget; the Christmas pressies yesterday were nearly £9, so I've allocated £10 off the budget - it's easier and means we have a tiny bit more left as a 'buffer zone'.

I've decided to allocate a little spend every month (when I can afford it) to doing one or two little projects in the house. It keeps me motivated and I don't feel like we're missing out then. This month it's the shelves and a nice house plant; next month I might buy some more paint to paint the dining room and maybe another large shelf that we would like - which will cost about £18 from IKEA.

We have an online shop being delivered tonight - costing just under £50. I'm doing quite well at keeping our grocery costs really low now, and we're eating much better too. :T

The outstanding £188 of the £2188 on the virgin card is annoying me now. I would really have liked it if we could've got it to under 2K this month but we won't be able to find an extra £188 this month. That's just me being impatient!

We do have some bits for ebay, but nothing of major value and no camera to take the pics! Oh well, I'll just have to wait until next month.

I thought about the matched betting but I'm not brave enough...

That £188 would bug me too. I'm not sure what to suggest to reduce it if you don't want to try the mb. Free bingo?
  • Hmm, Bingo...may be a good idea, but knowing my luck, I'd lose it all though!
  • Finally managed to get on the internet at home last night and did another survey = 50p more in the survey pot. I see I've been sent another worth 80p which I'll do tonight - if it's not too late by then.

Yesterday, I saw a good deal on the grabbit board for meat via an online butcher. 20% off first order, and they had a half price promotion on as well. So, I ordered £25.20 worth of steak mince and beef shin as I worked out it was cheaper than we usually pay for supermarket mince and much cheaper than the shin we occasionally buy from the butchers to make lovely shin stew in the winter. I also got free delivery too, but not sure why. :D That'll stock our freezer up nicely! There was also lovely looking steak and roasting joints, but they were a bit too pricey for our budget this month. That's come out of our shopping budget, leaving £75 for the rest of the month which will be more than ample considering we've got cupboards and freezers stocked after online delivery last night.
