The bank account is not looking good this morning. The paypal and Amazon money has yet to hit it though so it won't be as bad as it looks presently... but it's still bad! I wish I knew how much overtime I will actually be getting, then I could work out an exact budget for next month and know where we are. Oh well, will know tomorrow when it gets paid in.

This morning I've been quite the domestic goddess before work and put a joint of Gammon from the freezer (donated by my lovely parents :A) in the slow cooker with some veg and parsley - mmm. Got hubby to prepare the potatoes and shove them in a pan of water til we get home tonight, so dinner is organised! :T

I tried to do another survey last night; got through half of it and then it said I wasn't suitable. That really annoys me and it's happening nearly every time lately. That, or I get 95% done and it says it's reached its target number of applicants. I emailed to complain and got a reply back saying more or less 'tough luck'. Grrrrr.

Guess today will involve entering some more competitions when I get chance and trying not to look at /think about the bank balance. :o

£5.72 made on an Amazon sale overnight, will pay it off the egg card immediately to help bring the balance down a little! :T

I am fuming.:mad::mad: I haven't been paid for my overtime. There's no reason why this has happened, just poor organisation and a mistake on the part of payroll. I very much doubt whether I'll see any of that this month now, will probably have to wait until next month. That's really going to make us struggle this month as we were relying on that extra bit of money. Will have to try and sort it out today.:mad::mad:

Oh, and got dumped out of another survey last night too. Considering quitting L'speed as that's all that's happening to me lately - I give them all my answers bar the last one, then they say they've got enough and I won't be earning any points!

  • Hi DFSD, thats so annnoying about the overtime. Last month I never got my travel allowance either, hopefully will be in this months pay. Your still doing really well paying off the credit cards, im sure it must be so hard to keep up the momentum. Well done:T

Thanks for the encouragement wantabetterlife, I needed it today!

Well, I definitely won't be paid my overtime until August. BUT I have been given 3 hours extra at time and a half, for the early mornings I've been doing, so it's not all bad. Every cloud has a silver lining as they say. We'll just have to make sure we're extra careful this month. Will have a 'sit down and work out everything' session sometime over the next few days to know exactly where we are. My plan is to be able to pay the overtime directly off the credit card, so I need to make sure we're in a position to be able to do that by not overspending this month.

I have also been playing around with the snowball calculator for the past half hour or so. Worst case scenario - judging on what we're currently repaying, and based on us NOT being able to get a 0% BT deal on the egg card next month, we've got 50 months until we're debt free!:eek::eek: We would have paid off everything except the GE Money loan within 30 months though, as GE loan will not accept overpayments. But, at 216.73 a month, being our only debt, we'll be able to live a normal life by then! Maybe also being able to save money to pay that loan off in one chunk. And hopefully, and most importantly, may be able to be thinking about having children by then.

If I can find an extra £100 a month though, we shall be free of everything but that pesky loan within 2 years, which is a much better prospect. I guess that's my mission over the next few days - to see where I can 'free up' an extra £100 a month. I don't think we really have much left to sell as we've decluttered and got rid of loads of books / cds / dvds / clothes / 'stuff'. Think I'll have to be brutal and have another turn out on Sunday. Will spend tonight and Saturday talking hubby into it! He turns pale when I mention sorting more stuff out ot get rid of! We do have enough to do a car boot sale already though, so am planning on doing one as soon as we have a Sunday free.

Looks like I'm on another mission - £100 a month it is then! :o

  • Egg card now stands at £157.07 after minimum payment came out of my account by direct debit. This one will be paid off next month, and in an ideal world, the virgin balance will be transferred to it at 0%!

Well I think me and hubby have managed to find an extra £100 a month by going through our budget again. Hubby is going to work a bit extra and chuck an £50 more in the joint account every month if he is able, and we're going to do everything we can not to be overdrawn at all, so that we could have up to an extra £150 a month to pay off the debts quicker.

We're also going to keep a closer eye on our shopping budget as this is where we easily overspend if we take our eye off the ball. :T

It's quite exciting to think of all that extra going towards them, think I may go off and do another snowball to see what our debt free date will be as a little incentive!

A quiet weekend for us, hubby is out working for a few hours today and I'm going to roast a chicken we had in the freezer which we bought when on offer so we can have a nice meal tonight. We had a very stressful and upsetting day yesterday with my Mum's ongoing health problems, but today is a better day so I am thankful for that. A day at a time is the only approach at the moment.

It was a lovely sunny day for most of yesterday, so I managed to get in the garden for a bit and do a few little jobs and tidy it up a bit. Also got 5 loads of washing done and dry on the line - only washing when the sun shines at the moment if we can help it as our dryer's broken! Good job I did it all yesterday too as today is another torrentially wet and windy day.

I'm tempted to sort through and music magpie all our cds/dvds again today but will have to wait for hubby to get home as they're mostly his. :o

Hope everyone's having a good weekend

Today I've listed 5 more things on ebay today and 18 cds on Amazon :T. I looked at Music Magpie, but they were offering only about 30p for most cds so I figured we would get more for them at a car boot sale, even if we only sold them for 50p! So, they're currently sitting in the car boot box. :p

I have 3 watchers on the ebay items already so fingers crossed they sell! One of the items I'm selling on behalf of my sister though so I hope she gets a good price for that one.

Had our roast chicken and got some left over to make a risotto tomorrow now. :D

We've made £8.43 on some of the cds from Amazon already, so I've paid that off of the egg card leaving the balance now at £148.64. Hopefully a few more will sell to help bring that balance down a bit more before we (hopefully!:o) balance transfer the virgin card to it.

There's 4 watchers on ebay items, no bids yet.
