Hi Chocforever :hello: and welcome to the diary! Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions, you're spot on with one of them - my parents are indeed my 'mortgage' providers. They bought the house (cash) and we pay them a low monthly rent of £380. I am extremely lucky and privileged to have such wonderful parents who think nothing of what they have done for us. If we had a 'real live mortgage' we would be in dire straits. In fact, we would still be renting and paying more to do so.
The gardening is a good idea too and one I'd love to do, but I'm not sure when I'd find the time to be honest. It is definitely something to consider.
As for overtime - no chance of any extra I'm afraid, as I work for local government. It is very well paid so I can't complain. I did 10 hours at the weekend - 5 at time and a half and 5 at double time so it should net me a bit more next month to throw straight at a debt.
Thank you for posting, it can bit a little bit lonely rambling along to myself at times!

The new motivated me (!) has been browsing the 'up your income' board this afternoon and I've signed up for another survey site to try and earn a few more pennies / points. Hopefully they'll start sending me some surveys soon.
I've also entered quite a few more competitions. I should really get back to doing these more often as I won quite a few prizes when I was doing them regularly.
I've also asked a friend if I can borrow their digital camera to start ebaying stuff.
I'm going to stop at the shops on the way home from work and return an item I bought - so that's £20 back in the bank!
Not bad for a start...0 -
A few things ticked off the list tonight... :j
I've just finished listing 19 things on Amazon, not for great amounts of money but every little helps!
I've checked for new surveys and done a few mini polls, which will hopefully encourage some surveys to be sent my way soon.
I've arranged to borrow a camera from a friend to ebay stuff.
And I've done the free daily scratchcard and 'won' 10p !
That's about all for tonight folks

Our first Amazon sale already... for the grand sum of £1.22! :rotfl:
Think I might leave it in the Amazon account to mount up a bit...:rolleyes:0 -
wantabetterlife wrote: »Hi DFSD. I used to keep a spending diary aswell and couldnt believe how much i spent on eating out and takeaways- about £200- £300 per month:eek:. We have completely cut out takeaways but i still go for the odd lunch. Instead of going to a hotel for lunch and spending nearly £20 i now go to a nice trendy cafe and it costs about a fiver. This way i can still do what i like to do with my friends and i dont feel im missing out! Goodluck with the spending diary for July:D
well done!0 -
Another Amazon sale of £3.46 so far :j That's nearly a fiver already which has been sat in my attic for a while! I shall leave it to mount up a bit and then pay it off the egg card.
I started to take some pics of the ebay stuff last night, but the batteries ran out in the camera. Shall get back onto that tonight. Not sure if I should wait until the weekend to list them so it ends the following weekend - I've read there's more chance of people bidding on something ending on a Sunday etc.
I've kindly been sent the free click guide too, so I shall have a read of that today and get clicking!

3 more Amazon sales overnight, totaling £9.60. :j
I've also taken photos of all the ebay stuff and will list those at the weekend.
I'm having a bit of a worrying time at the moment. My Mum's health is not good again and she may have to have surgery today. I'm really anxious and struggling to be honest. I'm just keeping fingers, toes and everything crossed things work out well this time.0 -
Well done with the sales!

Thanks Raini. Still stressful times at the moment and my health is suffering a little at the moment due partly to the stress, I'm sure; but one has to 'just get on with it' as my Mum always says. Her fight and determination is truly inspirational.
Well I've has a few more Amazon sales over the past couple of days, and have a total of £18.72 winging its way to my bank account from those so far. There's 11 items left to sell on there so hopefully some more will go soon. I shall see what the bank accounts looking like before payday and hopefully pay those totals of the credit card if we can spare the cash.
I've also been very good this morning and listed 12 items on ebay (whilst sitting in bed with the laptop!). Three of those have bids on already and a few others have 'watchers' so hopefully they'll all sell. Have started all at 99p so I don't have to pay stupid ebay insertion fees too. Plan on giving them as little money as possible!
I also took back a couple of items I bought recently that I don't need - am being very strict with myself! I have one more item to return but will do that in the week. Can't face Asda on a Sunday afternoon!
Got screened out of another survey this morning - after answering about 10 questions already , am just off to do my free scratchcard of the day.
Catch up soon

Woo hoo - another sale on Amazon for £4.90! :j
Quite a bit of bidding / interest shown on my ebay sales too, with 6 days to go.
We're pretty much overdrawn with 10 days to go until payday so I think the Amazon money will have to stay in the bank account to help 'mop up' the damage a little bit.0
