I'm sure I win... when we first moved in, our bathroom suite was the same style as that in the pic but was dark brown, even the loo, with a dark brown shag pile carpet and very dark green painted plaster walls.
Are you sure that was the "original" colour? :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 126 :j

well i know its not bathroom related, but in the old days before fitted kitchens, my dad built ours, this must have been early 70s. he painted the kitchen cupboard doors, green and orange, alternating. and it wasnt even a nice green, it was sort of a dark lime green,,, urgh
Your dad and mine must have had the same lack of taste in painting doors LOL mine did the lounge doors olive green and the surrounds tangerine again it was the 70's, they had a very fetching swirly Axminster carpet in lurid shades of green and orange;) he had an affinity with green paint LOL.0 -
It's the B&Q shell that I detest the most from new suites

The pink bathroom looks like something you'd see in a doll's house! :rotfl:
I've had a khaki coloured bathroom suite before, it was quite nice as it was fully tiled and a pine lined ceilling too...weel, it was the early nineties, pine cielings were compulsory then!!
The house we are in now had a grey suite with a grey waterproof paper and a grey shower curtain!! But we lived with the suite for about 6 years as other things took priority!:oMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I've seen worse. It looks clean and in good nick.
Our downstairs loo has a green sink and toilet and pine cladding. The previous owner boxed in the cistern so God help us if it ever developes a leak. My sister-in-law wants the sink if we ever take it out as it's 'retro'. It doesn't bother me. It certainly didn't stop us from buying the house earlier this year.
My aunt and my in-laws both installed brown suites many years ago (both since replaced). Both said they thought it would be easier to keep clean than a white one. Wrong! They both said it was 10x worse as they always ended up with a white tidemark, even in the sink.0 -
Well, at least brown toilet pedestals hide the skid marks :rotfl:0

Oh dear, I'm seriously wanting retro loos now.
LOVE the pale turquoise...with glass tiles it would look amazing.0 -

Well tastes change. Many moons ago I remember that our old bathroom was suite was offered for sale, proudly stating that it was a coloured suite because who would want boring old fashioned white?
If you have to have a colour, avocado is definitely one of the better ones! Turquoise, bright yellow, brown, aubergine, navy blue... all far, FAR worse!
PS I generally ask myself, if I had a hangover, would being in the bathroom tip me over the edge to actually vomiting?0
