The most hideous bathroom suite I have ever seen...

Landlord would be hard pushed to prove any stains on it though when you moved back out :whistle:They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Errr, no. Sadly, it's a paler, grey/green colour. I would post a photo if I wasn't so embarrased by it. Interestingly, we have a salmon pink carpet in there too which clashes nicely. We have tried to camoflague the avocaddo-ness by out-greening it with a green blind, green pictures, green rug etc but really there's no hiding - it's ugly

If it weren't for the really awful mirror and the wallpaper and tiles that really don't flatter the colour of the suite in there, I'd really like that. You lot are so unadventurous!
Personally, I really hate bathroom suites with shell designs for the soap dishes / sinks etc. I think they're really tacky.0 -
I'm a bit disappointed.
I was expecting something similar to the bathroom in "Trainspotting".

You could dress that sink/mirror combo to look like Thomas the Tank Engine.
It would be a great bonus for any Rev W Audrey or Ringo Starr fans.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
I think Dave's sneaked in my house and taken a photo of my downstairs bathroom
Even have the same tiles up the side!
Upstairs we have the classic 80s avocaddo suite, complete with corner bath and gold taps

We were planning to replace the upstairs one this year but thought we'd hold off on the expenditure given the current economic climate - let's face it, it's still a bath and the toilet works fine
But doesn't that just show the influence of fashion? In the seventies, sensible men with moustaches, long hair and strange long collars to match, were busy up and down the land, plumbing in pink or turquoise bathroom suites and carefully matching the tiles.......
I wouldn't worry about the avocado suite. Until two years ago, we had one too, complete with green tiles, which covered every wall surface. We also had the same plastic mirror & toothbrush holder shown in the original picture.
When people looked at themselves in that mirror in the morning, the reflected hues made them look positively ill, but there was always a vast improvement on further inspection in the bedroom mirror, so the overall effect wasn't displeasing; a case of 'Thank God, I look quite reasonable after all.'0 -
The house we are currently renting has an original barrett champagne bathroom suite.
It is quite horrid but did not bother us too much as we are renting until last week - the father-in-law somehow broke the toilet seat and we had to try and buy a seat to match up.
4 attempts at B&Q, Focus, Do-it-All and tiles-r-us with their versions of "Champagne" toilet seats no where near the colour of ours !!!
We finally got a focus lemon colour seat which was the closest match.
You just cannot beat white for bathrooms !0 -
The house we sold last year had an avocado suite. I hated it when we moved in, but by the time we left, I had grown strangely attached to it.0

When I bought my house it had a white bath (that had rusted) with painted orange walls and a blue shower curtain - to complete the look it had black mould growing around the walls and curtain - using a public toilet had never looked soooo attractive!
Although I will say the most memorable bathroom I came across was when I was helping out at a local EA at weekends, I went round a house that had a bathroom off a bedroom and when I opened the door my mouth hit the deck - it was the avodaco green suite but the tiles were brown and green alternately floor to ceiling so it looked like you were in a tube of smarties or a tub of mint-choc chip icecream.0
