(As a new user I am unable to post with links apparently)

Also explore the 'My Company' link on that page.

    uk.linkedin.com/pub/gary-wayne/16/691/7b

Ps - Creative Parking Solutions plc is the parent company behind Civil Enforcement Ltd, both of which are GW operations.
'Creative' is the company that obtains RK details via electronic link from the DVLA, & then uses CEL (& Newlyn plc) as the enforcement arms.
I do not use social networking sites of any kind no mayyer ow tempting the 125 Connections are on that page. It seems the only way to see those connections is to join.

Neither do I Coblcris. Presumably you can access the page & view the photo & other info about this individual. Neither do you have to be a member/log-in to access the 'My Company' link which takes you to the Creative Parking Solutions plc site.
  • I live on the Isle of Wight and have received a demand from Civil Enforcement for £150 or £75 if paid within 14 days for overstaying 35 mins in a car park that used to be free. A friend and I both parked and she has the same demand. The first demand came three days ago but had no amounts printed on it so I went back to the car park in daylight to see the signs which have been mounted so that if you arrive in the dark you don't really notice them. Today I received a second demand apologizing for not filling in the amount. I had already researched this site and had decided to ignore them, my friend however, is of a more nervous nature and has been trying to see a solicitor. I have also emailed our local MP and had reply that he will look into this. It's worries me that these crooks can pay DVLA and get my details.

What's the point of seeing a solicitor in lieu of paying a parking fine? Surely it's going to be even more expensive?

Seriously - just ignore them and they will go away.

mrcow - with respect, I must correct your post.
As is so often pointed out on the forums, this is not a parking fine, PPC's cannot issue fines, only the police, local authorities & the courts have the powers to do that. What wongie & her friend have received are invoices & unenforceable invoices at that.
    Otherwise, I second your advice.

wongie - it seems you have got the message but your friend hasn't.
Spend some time with her in going through the posts & threads on this, & other forums if need be, in order to convince her. Neither of you have anything to fear from these scammers. Ignoring everything from them is the default position,(with the exception of properly sealed papers from a County Court, which won't happen anyway).

I am in a similar position to yourselves regarding an alleged miniscule overstay in a free supermarket car-park. Only, 3 years & many nasty letters down the line, I am still waiting for some real action from these self-same bullies in actually moving to carry out their empty threats.
I relish the opportunity of 'seeing them in court', but I remain disappointed; it wont happen because they would lose big-time, I know it & more to the point, they know it,

Unfortunately the DVLA can & do release details to anyone demonstrating 'reasonable cause'. At £2.50 a pop it's a nice little earner for them & they're not too interested in how the disclosure of that info is then used & abused by the PPC's.

No problem - I absolutely agree. I should have been more careful when typing.

Just a quick update on the above:

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the photo of Gary Wayne has since been removed from the web page, together with other interesting info about him.
He must be an MSE fan.

Also, can anyone advise me at what point a 'newbie' is permitted to include 'links' to other sites in their posts.
    Thanks

.....and I should have realised much earlier it was an obvious unintentional slip of the wrist having just noticed your 'credentials & vital statistics'. Respect....:o
  • Thanks so much for the advice and support, I have been trying to convince her and will make some more effort today. We are both getting our pension and could ill afford to pay this money so I'm standing my ground!
