Just called the FSA he said that I should seek legal advice as the evidence I have ie telephone call saying "right the thing is if you can't afford the ppi I don't think you will be looking at the loan there basically" is strong evidence.
I want to cry
Oh honey......I want to cry for you, its so maddening........

Now yours is an horrific amount, its disgusting...... , I am still trying to learn the same time though but your right what you said about mine, just feel a bit silly really on mine because hamilton may just have a giggle about this.......:o
I wonder if I calculate again the unused PPI (yours being 2835 divide by 60 47.25 x 16 = 756 is what you should have paid for 16 months and then take off the settlement rebate of the PPI 1533.69 and this is the amount you were overcharged being 545.31
mine was 4163 divide by 60 = £69.38 and then x 39 months we had it £2705.99 so 4163 - 2705.99 - rebate 91.94 = 1365.07 overcharged. I know that they say 78% pro rata so 78% of that is 1064.75...
This is more like the arguments if we have any at all....0 -

"EARLY REPAYMENT:
You have the right to settle this Agreement early by paying to us any unpaid reasonable costs, charges and expenses debited to your account and the balance of your Total Indebtedness (which will include , for this purpose , future interest calculated at the rate applicable at the time of the settlement quotation which would be payable under this Agreement, if this agreement were to continue unaltered, and without being settled early, until all sums owed under this Agreement are paid to us) less upon payment in full, a Rebate (if any) calculated in accordance with the Consumer Credit (Rebate on Early Settlement) Regulations 1983 as amended or re-enacted from time to time.
We will provide a settlement statement upon written request being made to you.
Without prejudice to your right to repay the whole Loan early, you may be allowed to repay part only of the loan other than the Monthly instalments set out overleaf, (or by any new Monthly Instalments notified to you by us under the terms of the loan condition 3 above), upon such terms as to settlement interest that we specify.

Di, you have to remember that i have done both yours and mine calculations on the PPI total (without interest) but still the whole amount!!!
This means that we were both charged the full amount of PPI (without interest being charged on top)...
Although the settlement is then worked out on the whole amount and rebated against the whole amount (and my PPI was rebated using rule 78 like wht tron_ess says so that is where that extra £1400 comes from)??
I think we have all been confused by tiggrae here with unfair rebates....0 -
