Hi Red Sqirrel
I am very interested in the detail of the actual sums on how these are calculated--any chance of posting the details or a PM

Morning everyone.
It seems like ten thousandyears since I posted on this thread.
Position with me is as follows.
Welcome finance x2 - complaint refered to branch. Manager up held, full refund to be given +interest paid. result. however 6 months on no refund forth coming. I then lodged a formal complaint about it and WFS head officesent standard final respose letter saying no refund due and if I try to complain to ombudsman they will request the complaint is rejected on the ground of not worth persuing. Ireplied enclosing a copy of the BM's letter confirming full refund due andthey responded to me saying as BM was no longer employed by them they could not confirm letter as written by him. Convenient eh!! They also enclosed a letter they say the BM sent me saying no refund due yet my account notes from after the alledged date comfirm full refund awaiting processing. :rotfl: I am so glad I sent an Sar to them before making my formal complaint. Ombudsman complaint completed and ready to be sent once I get to post office.
Does the Ombudsman rule fairly?? Have I really just wasted everyones time by complaining to them?? Could the ombudsman fine me for time wasting as WFS had basically said don't bother?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Send the complaint to FOS, especially if you have proof that the manager agreed0

Morning all,
Last week i received my first no from Tesco personal finance, 3 days over their 8 weeks. I had already downloaded and filled out the fos form and sent it the previous day. On receiving my response from TPF i wrote stage 2 letter asking them to look at my complaint again giving them 14 days, in all my frustration i posted this straight thru the post box and forgot to send recorded. Do you think i should contact the case officer to see if this has been received and also tell him i have contacted the fos?
Thanks in advance x0 -
Yes, you can do that, but it really would be worth sending this again recorded if you really want them to get it, even if they say they have it later thay could deny it when questioned by the FOS.DS1 12/10/04

Marshallka, read with interest your article on how refunds of single premiums are allocated. I am wondering how mine with the FSCS will work as I know I would have a cheque sent to me if I won my claim so I assume that would be for payments already paid? And then the loan gets restructured to take off future PPI payments and interest?
Wonder if I could email them and ask or whether I would get the same reply as Di?!!DS1 12/10/04

If you still owe some of the single premium then this can then be taken from the balance of the loan and the loan redone taking this into account.
I don't know how it would work with the FSCS but perhaps asking them is best.. good luck but that is what is written on which....;)0
