I received a letter back from my van finance after i sent the letter i showed you a copy of,

It Says that the a/c number i quoted to does not exist which is a load of bollax,as ive double quecked with my statements and its the same 1.

I spoke to my dude mate, and their just staling me for time aswell as wanting me to quote my vehicle reg that i have no agreement for, thus validating my agreement with them that they cocked up.

    Hello..;):D
  • Morning Marshallka,

    How are you today?
Did you get your washer fixed? I was thinking of you yesterday whilst at work. This constant battle you are having with First Plus must really be getting you down, and the authorities that are suppose to be there to help us seem to be sitting on their a....s doing nothing. It's a good job we have each other to lean on and offer support otherwise I don't know what we would do. Hope you have a better day today
  • I have today created a petition at the Downing Street website asking the Prime Minister to challenge Barclays First Plus on their failure to drop interest rates and in many cases raise them.
It has four months to run, so please encourage all your friends to sign asap. As it's just been submitted, it needs to be approved, so please keep checking until you see it there.
Please visit http://www.number10.gov.uk/communicate. Then put First Plus loans into the search box.

Hiya Showergirl, thanks for your support again. I got the washer fixed but by listening to the washer man this new for old insurance means nothing. He says that they will ALWAYS find the part to fix them and keep coming back..Anyway done and dusted now...;)

As regards Firstplus I have no complaint against them. I call it my complaint against Firstplus but its actually been put against Lloyds. Looks like where I am concerned that Firstplus are getting off scott free.

I suppose if nothing else the experience we are having with insurance will make us wise in future
  • Can Anyone please help me.
We took a joint loand out with the Halifax in 2004 for £5k over 7 years. In January I was 2 days late making my payment so called to pay over the phone. Whilst on the phone the handler said That my partner has PPI with this loan and him only not me. I said we would never have agreed for us to have PPI never mind just one of us. Anyway I left it at that and spoke to someone about it and they pinted me to this site to see if we can get the PPI back. Anyway, My husband called yesterday to canx the PPI and the person said he cannot do this. He has to go to the branch and re-do the loan without payment protection. Can anyone tell me of this is right or not?

Sorry if this has been posted before.

If this was missold to you then you need to make a complaint. As regards cancelling it you are allowed but sometimes it does mean redoing the loan too and you only get a very small rebate back. The interest is payable over the whole term of the loan too.

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.

After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.
