  • Just rang the FSA. They told me that the FOS will inform them of any firms which have complaints logged against them. They will then decide whether to take any action or not.

    Hi All, I have been following the advice on this site for couple of years and have had some great bargains etc, i dont post much just hit the thanks and read a lot! I also had a go at reclaiming my PPI from an Alliance & Leicester loan i had. They made me an offer on 8th December, which i accepted and I posted it back on the same day and i am still waiting for the cheque!!!!

    I rang them on 3rd January and was told that they had 28 days to send it out to me, and the 28 days was up on 14th January. I rang yesterday and they still havent sent the cheque. is this normal, to wait this long, am getting worried that they are not going to send it to me at all, we are on a DMP at the mo so that money would come in really handy!

    id appreciate any help. thanks

    Why is it that you have to wait so long to be paid. These companies and their attitudes make me so angry:mad:

    What did they say when you rang them?? Most companies are taking their time sending out the cheques but I would just keep their phone lines busy...;)

    Hi thanks for replying, they just keep saying its being dealt with. Also they only offered the 8% interest up until 31st December, so i thought that they would have sent it out soon after that. its so frustrating, i might ring again today.

    Then you need another months statutory interest and you need to tell them that too. I am sure this may hurry them along..;)

    Just had a reply to my email about Firstplus/Lloyds as follows

    Dear Mrs M
    Thank you for your email of 8 January 2009 in which you state that you do not want your complaint against Firstplus closed, until you know that The Society of Lloyds will actually take responsibility for the issues relating to unfair rebate. I appreciate your comments, however as previously explained we are unable to consider your complaint against Firstplus as, although your policy was sold by Firstplus, issues relating to rebate payments should be directed to the insurance company who underwrote the policy, i.e. The Society of Lloyds.
    As a result, the following two options are available to you in respect of this complaint;

    1) You accept the view issued on 23 October 2008 stating that we cannot hold Firstplus responsible for a complaint concerning rebate, and the complaint is closed.

    2) Alternatively, if you are not willing to accept my view, the final stage in our procedure would be to have your complaint against Firstplus referred to the ombudsman for a final decision to be made.

    We are unable to keep cases open indefinitely, and therefore if you wish for your complaint to be passed to the ombudsman for a final decision to be made, please inform me in writing by 27 January 2009. If I have not heard from you by 27 January 2009 I will arrange for the case to be closed.

    As you are aware we have set up a new complaint against The Society of Lloyds under case reference ******. For sake of completeness and to avoid any confusion in the future I would suggest that any correspondence relating to your new complaint is marked with the correct reference and sent to the appropriate contact. Our records indicate that ******** wrote to you on 19 December 2008 providing details of the action taken on your new complaint against The Society of Lloyds. I will arrange for your recent email to be forwarded to ******** and to be added to your complaint against The Society of Lloyds, however in future please correspond directly with ******** on matters concerning your complaint reference *********.

    Many thanks
    Kind regards
