Will do as Marshallka advised and see what happens. It does get you down as you feel it's an uphill struggle with these people !

Hi there, I sent my ppi reclaim letter to welcome finance (claiming 3 accounts) on 1 letter, they sent me a letter back quoting only 1 account number, I have phoned them back to tell them i am claiming for 3 account not, the snooty little madam on the oter end asked why was I reclaiming anyway because they were paying the ppi premiums for me! Is she trying to scare me off?
What did she mean by "they were paying the PPI premiums for you"??

    Hi Di
Ok my husband has just told me that it was all done over the phone with virgin, I has just asked him about the ppi also. The lady asked if he wanted it added and he said yes, he wasnt told how much or asked any questions.
I have just had a look at the back of a letter which does stae any payments made by cheque should be made out to MBNA now I am confused. There are a number of different addreses given for virgin and MBNA
Thankyou so much for your help

  • I have contacted the FSA about TPF and they have told me any cases logged with the FOS against any finance company will be passed to them and its up to the FSA whether they decide to fine the company.
About to send my final response letter to the FOS from TPF

Just had a thought and that is if we were all sold single premiums and these facts were told to us like this

You can have your loan but do you want us to arrange the insurance too. It will be another loan on top of your loan cause we pay it all to the insurer up front so you then pay for it monthly BUT there is interest on each payment.

If you then cancel the insurance you will only get a small proportion of it back and that is only a small proportion of the actual PPI WITHOUT the interest so in fact you will always owe the interest over the term of your loan.

Then your PPI will only last 5 years and your loan is over 15 years so we will then offer you another insurance to cover the other 10 years but don't forget you will STILL be actually paying for the first one too as there was interest and it was a loan so payable over the full 15 years.

Then we will only insure one of you on the insurance although the loan is joint but the other person is jointly liable for loan to pay for YOUR PPI.

How can ANY single premium not be missold and why are we still waiting for the FOS to uphold them. They were all missold in my eyes and they should know this. To actually request a single premium and FULLY UNDERSTAND what you are buying you would need to be crazy.

Get it in Deborah, and extra good luck. I am glad you have contacted the FSA about this company as this then helps others in the long run..:D

If Virgin actually made the sale of the credit then its virgin you need to complain to.

I have just found this thread here....
    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/mbna/111016-mbna-virgin-credit-card.html

Seems like they have written to MBNA and it is a different type of complaint but they have written to this address here. Maybe have a read through the thread and see what you think..
