Hi all - got a response to my second letter to Egg. They have said they would need evidence of my pre-existing medical claim at the time of sale in order to be able to consider that it was mis-sold. Not a problem at all! In 2001 I had really bad panic disorder and depression and was undergoing medication to help with this as well as a course of counselling prescribed by my GP. Will arrange to go and see the GP to get the necessary documentation and hopefully with that info, Egg will see the error of their ways! I don't really see that they could deny that the product was irrelevant to me really.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    Hi hun
They are using stalling tactics I believe, I'm sure your GP will be able to get the docs required, if there is any charge for these, tell EGG to fork out for this bill hun and good luck ;) xx

Hi Di, I have had my letter bk from barclays about my ppi charges and basicaly they are sayin that the policy was sent to my home address and i had 30 days cooling off period and i should of cancelled, i was gettin charged on my statements and i didnt question it so basically they arnt going to give me compensation and have game me a leaflet for the FO and said i have 6 months to get in touch with them. Oh but doesnt say that i signed anything, it says that i was in full time employment, which i was as a childminder, so does that mean that i cant do anything now?

Would be grateful for any advice.. hope u and ur family are all well. Sarah. xxxx

    Hiya hun
I see our lovely helpful Maxdp has posted (cheers Max);) .

What many will do is write back and enclose a copy of the FOS form with it ,and inform them you are now taking this to the Financial ombudsman service where you are enclosing a copy of the form you have sent to the FOS.
(this way they may still reconsider your complaint, even if the FOS are investigating, if the Barclays do change their mind and give you an offer that your happy with, you can then just let the FOS know);)

You can down load a form here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Or contact them, there is a contact number on the link and request one through the post.
Take a photocopy once completed to send to Barclays.
Also add any correspondence (in copies) within the FOS complaint form.;)

Good luck hunni and thank you for your lovely sweet comment earlier.:A
Please post back anytime if you need further help/info x

Cheers for the suggestion, Di. I hadn't thought about charging any of the GP stuff to them, but if there's a charge, I definitely will! They've picked a great year to ask about too as 2001 was the worst I've ever felt in my life and the evidence as to my medical condition from that year must be huge.

I think my medical file for 2001 must look like the Encyclopaedia Britannica (for anyone under 18 reading this, that's what us oldies used to find out information and facts before the internet!)
