If they have suggested the Financial ombudsman service on the response you received, you should be able to complain to them, if you want to check this out like what Marshallka said you can ring them who will be able to confirm this to you and of course they will send the form out the same time.;)

    Hi all,

Can you please tell me if I am entitled to reclaim ppi?

After reading "Had you had medical problems in the past?"
On applying for the loan with PPI i was not asked for any medical history.
I am concerned that I may not be covered by PPI due to a medical condition I had 16 years ago.

I had to declare this medical condition on my life insurance.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi Leon

Please could you tell me who the loan was taken out with and what year, we shall take it from there, because this is at least one of the complaints.;)
    Cheers.

In case you miss the above post, we will have to check if the loan company were covered by a regulator, such as GISC if prior to Jan 2005 as the FSA had taken over GISC then, even if the loan company were not covered you still have every chance to reclaim your money back.

If you check this link out here below, there is some useful PPI info and a list of mis selling reasons, check them out as well and if any of them occur to you plus your reasons you have added already then add as much as possible to the complaint/reclaim letter.

There is also a template on the link to help you.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full, another letter maybe required if not successful or until you receive the final decision and then you may be eligible to take this to the Financial ombudsman service if not successful, but if you let us know when you hear we can help you step by step with your case.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting and to keep a check on the 8 weeks they have, if for some reason they have not responded by the full 8 weeks then you can still continue to complain to the FOS, but if these were covered by the above regulators only.

Good luck and give us a yell anytime.;)

    Hi there

You are entitled to take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service if the 8 weeks have gone by, some companies use these extra times for stalling tactics.

To complain to the FOS you can either download a complaint form from their site, or ring them in order for them to send you one in the post.
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Has the company suggested the FOS to you yet hun?

If you decide to want to now complain to the FOS, I would also write to finance company and enclose a copy of your complaint form, tell them you feel you have waited too long for this investigation to complete and have enclosed a copy of the complaint form sent to the Financial ombudsman service, this way they can still reconsider and it has been known to nudge them on a bit with a successful response, hopefully it may be the same for you as well, but to me if the 8 weeks have gone by and you have already given them extra time, then enough is enough.

Enclose all copies of correspondence with the complaint form for the FOS.

Good luck and if you require further help here just give us a yell, please keep us posted, cheers.;)
