    Hi Marshallka

Sorry your eye still bad, your shoulder as well. You need to have a rest now. Is hubby back to work tomorrow. Have you got lots more to do?;)
Yeah he goes back tomorrow. He has papered and we have had it plastered too and we need another roll. I have painted all over floor to ceiling and then its fitting the fireplace...

I was only saying to my hubby its the longest we have had together being 3 weeks nearly as he had time off with flu before christmas and then his two weeks holiday.

I am looking for the strongest painkiller we have and I have found some co-codamol effervecence. I just want to get my shoulder back in and its going to be painful.

This happens a lot too and its murder sleeping. I have such blummin pain and most of it is sleeping so maybe if I could sleep upright then I would be better.

    Hi all,
just wanted to keep you updated with my claim, recieved a letter yesterday
from bank stating that they are still looking at my claim for miss-sold ppi on three loans. They have given me a reference number if i want to contact them, also told me that the matter would be resolved by 23rd January, so have just printed off a letter explaining in more detail how i was miss-sold. Hope this strengthens my case.So fingers crossed!

    Hi Andy

Sorry if I am repeating stuff you have already posted but have not read through all the posts.

How old were Nan and Grandad when they took out the Loan.

    Were they working.

Did they have any disabilities when they took the loan out.

Why did they say that the previous PPI had to continue to be paid. Was that cause it would cover them for disabilities etc that had commenced after the first loan was taken out.

When did they stop paying for the first PPI or are they still doing so.

Sorry to ask lots of question but just trying to get full picture so that we can help. Again I apologise if you have already posted this.:D
    Hi Maxdp,

As with Di, Thanks a lot for taking the time to read through all this.

My Nan and Grandad were 63 & 61 respectively re the first loan in 2001 (loan in my Nan's name only) but when it was refinanced in 2004 it was in both names - my Nan's name being the first on the agreement) my Nan would have been 66 and Grandad would have been 64 in 2004.

My Nan wasn't working from 2001 but my Grandad was up until 2004 when he had to quit work due to an operation on his leg.

My Grandad was fairly fit for his age up until his op in 2004 then he couldn't work after that which is why they told the bank and tried to get the monthly repayments lowered from £283 p/m to £ 224 p/m.

My Nan paid PPI from December 2001 -> November 2006 (for the 1st loan which was in her name only) but it didn't cover unemployment (as they knew she wasn't working) it just covered her for critical illness or death. My argument is that they should have been able to cancel the DDR's for the PPI from 2004 when they took out the refinanced joint loan (which also included a new PPI which the bank spread over the loan term - ie. a further 5 years) - hope this makes sense!! Cheeky beggars added the new PPI to the loan so in effect my Grandparents paid an additional £1,140 on top of the loan plus an extra £253 in interest because it was being spread over the term of the loan.

I'm in the process of typing out a letter to reclaim all PPI's paid since 2004 on the basis of the various mis-selling catergories and the fact that the insurance didn't cover my Grandad after his passing in September 2008.

Hope this helps and sorry to be a pain!!
    Andy :-)

Andy you need to make a complaint to the FSA etc about your grandparents treatment. They should have been allowed to cancel the PPI as it was covering nothing and with the second loan they should have given them the option of finding something cheaper too. I would now complain about having to carry a PPI on that was for NOTHING and make it clear you are taking this to the FSA and OFT and FOS if necessary.

Also was your nan given a choice of the first PPI at all??

Its nice to have some time together especially as you don't that often, okay not the right circumstances due to the horrible FLU etc etc.

I remember when hubby worked in the steelworks I did not see him for dust, there they worked 12 hours shifts and weekends were part of that job as well, I would be lucky to see him 1 day of that fortnight then he would be shattered and now, I see too much of him.......:o  , not for long though I hope, as much as I enjoy his company, its time for him to go back to work and start earning again, I am still praying he will hear from the carpentry job, the closing date is 15th Jan, Daniel's 14th birthday.;)

Blimey Marshallka those Co-codomal are super strong, especially if they are 30/500MG due to the codiene......as you know there are some that get addicted to these....... .

Hope you feel better soon though hun, you need them to help kill that pain your going though, I feel for you, I really do......

I have no idea about legalities but someone else may do!

Regarding the PPI if you were told you needed to have PPI to get the loan then you may have been mis sold and need to write to whoever sold you the policy. How were you sold this in branch, over the phone ? Can you say who the loan is with?

Yeah it was in branch in lunch hour and LoydsTSB is who it was with by the way the loan has been defaulted now
