I'm just having a go at the reclaiming letter now....Shall I go for the 'Your member of staff did not ask me about any pre-existing conditions...' OR the 'I informed your memebr of staff of a pre-existing condition but it was not made clear the effect this could have on me...'??
It's worth a try isn't it?!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi there,
I am currently considering putting a claim into reclaim my ppi that i took on a loan in 2006. basically it was sold as a single premium and then interest applied; increasing my total repayment by over 1K!!! I have tried ringing to cancel the ppi and been told that i cant, because it was sold with the loan on a fixed term. I expressed that i was unhappy with this and the woman simply said i should write to the branch manager, which provoked me into visiting this site. Has anyone had a similar situation?? how likely is it that i will get anywhere??
Any of your thoughts or advise on this situation would be greatfully recieved.

Hi It is seen that single premium policies are not good practice now. Take a look under the Claim 1000's red tab at top of page. It explains things to you. If you then feel you have a claim post back on here and somebody will help you:D:mad:0 -
Hi all, new to this forum, just needed your help. I have followed Martins letter and sent off to Natwest saying I was mis sold as they told me I had to have the insurance otherwise I wouldn't get the loan. They have investigated and found no wrong doing as I have signed all the forms etc. BUT they have offered me £750 as a goodwill gesture!! I was paying £140 per month over 6 years and payed the insurance up front. Should I take the offer or continue the claim with the off? I cannot afford to lose this £750 though. Deal...or No deal!!0

If they thought they were not at fault they would not make a good will gesture. I would continue with your claim. What they have written to you is the usual fob off letter. Have you sent letter to them as per the template on this site? If so I would send the second letter then on to the FOS. Let us know then somebody will direct you from here.
Good Luck:D:mad:0 -
Thanks for your reply. That is exactly what I thought, why would they offer £750 if they were not at fault? I'm sure i'll be owed much more - well my girlfriend anyway as it's her claim. I'm going on the fact they told her she had to have the insurance otherwise she couldn't have the loan. They have come back to say that she signed the forms and was given 30 days to cancel afterwards. That is beside the point, they gave her incorrect information saying she had to have the insurance.
My only worry is I don't want to lose the £750 they have offered as we need it at the moment. What can I expect to get if I were sucsessful in my claim?0 -

I doubt the actual SAR would have anything in it of the actual point of sale talk.0 -
