    Hi there,
Thing is, I can't actually remember if I was told about pre-existing conditions during the application at the bank. I've dug out all the paperwork I have, but there's no mention of this of course - would they have it written down that it was discussed or not?
    Thanks for the reply;)

    Hi hun
So this was sold directly at the bank then ?

An SAR should provide information, yet I am not too certain about the details of the sale...... .

But if they did discuss this with you then I suppose you would have brought it to your attention at the sale of this, to make sure you were eligible, yet it seems that they may have just added this anyway...... .

Marshallka, when you get to read this hun, what would be the best action do you think from here?
Do you think millyscarlet should complain anyway?;)

I think that would be a case of your word against theirs really as they most probably would not have any record of this as this was sold face to face... . I doubt they would have written this down either...

I would say that you have to think now if this had been discussed with you WOULD you have taken the insurance out in all fairness knowing that this pre existing would not be covered.

If the answer is "no" then make a complaint.:D
  • Thank you both for replying:p
To be honest it's only the Crohn's that ever worries me about the fact I may have time off work sick, so if I'm not covered, it's not much use to me!! I really can't remember whether they asked about it or not, if they did then I'm not sure if I'd have bothered with the PPI. I work in a school and the job is secure so was never worried abut unemployment, it's the sickness cover I needed.
Hmm, I'll have a look at the template letters and see if I can fill one in.
Shall I have a go reclaiming? Especially as my PPI payments total £2161 and I only borrowed £4k:eek:
I really need to sort out a new signature!

You have answered that yourself in that you have said that you most probably would not have bothered but you need to be firm in that you definately would not have bothered when making a complaint.:D Extra good luck and let us know how you go on...;)

That PPI is ridiculous too...way too much...

Yes I was sold this directly at the bank - I went in as had just separated from husband, needed my own account. So I get the account and told to have a £4k loan (when I only needed to pay off £600 on our joint account overdraft). To be honest I think that was just too much, I was too easily talked into it, told what I needed and signed!! They make out they're helping, but giving me an extra £3k wasn't that helpful really.....;)

You were obviously stressed at the time too and they often take advantage but you need to be strong now if you are making a complaint...;)

Hmmmm........ typical and like what Marshallka said, feeling stressed at the time, they may have taken advantage of you.

It maybe worth a shot hun, perhaps its also worth checking over at the ppi success forum next to this thread, to see if others have been in the same situation as yourself where they were successful.;)

I think it makes you feel bitter when you find you have been ripped off with all that money...... .

We will help you through this hun all we can, and there is no harm in writing to reclaim and complain to them, add as much info as you can on your reclaim letter to back your case.
I see the link was also posted to you earlier.;)

    Good luck.:A x
