  • Hi, hopefully this post is on right place!! I am looking advice as to wether it is worth me trying to reclaim PPI from Firstplus. Sold a single premium policy July 05, still have this running alongside the loan (regrettably!!). Will get cashback in July 10. Having read the guide feel may have been missold as didn't realise was only a 5 year policy but would be paying for the interest on it for the length of the loan (180 months). I would really like to get it back early if possible so can see if can repay firstplus with a personal loan or remortgage that treats customers fairly with regards to interest rates. Any advice? Thank you

Looks like my final PPI claim (third) has been upheld! Not sure about the amount yet but I'm very happy. Thanks to you all again for your help and encouragement. The angry letter I sent to Abbey in response to their stupid questionnaire worked a treat! I wouldn't have had the motivation to follow them all through if it wasn't for you guys.

    Hi Peeps,

Thought i would share my good news regarding 3 loans i had with HSBC:-

I claimed back the PPI on all three loans (i paid the last two off very within a few months) only a few weeks ago on the off chance i may get something, and i got a letter on Friday for £3,214 - more then i claimed.:rotfl:

Also i claimed the late payment charges on my HSBC credit card i had years ago, claimed £206 (inc interest) and got an offer letter for £242:T .

I am so happy, it wouldn't be possible without Martins helps and you guys.

I have a few more claims in the pipeline so will let you know how it goes.

    xx:beer:

Definately worth reclaiming if it was missold to you. As this was after January, 2005 you would be able to take this complaint to the FOS if needed.

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.

After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Anglian would be receiving my 1st letter tomorrow. Will keep updating here. Just one question I should be paying off the balance on my loan next week and I would be eligible for claiming my PPI premium back (should lose a substantial portion of my original premium- that's what the PPI policy says). Will this affect my PPI reclaim on the basis of mis-sell? Keep up the good work on this forum, thanks.

No if you feel you were miss-sold then you can settle early. If it was front loaded then it was miss sold. Do not be put off with any of their old nonsense and good luck.

Hi Di and thanks for advice...

They said that they were afraid that in the absence of any furhter infor from me they have no alternqative other than to reject my complaint. They then go on to say 'I am sorry if my decisions are not more favourable to my complaint. Should I wish for the FO toindependently review my rejected omplain I must write to them within six months (leaflet enclosed). In the meantime I await the information requested above.....

So I guess, she is saying if I have any further info I wish to add then I can write back to her?? I think I will write back again with my further bits of info and with some of your bits of info too DI...What do you reckon?

    Thanks again so much:A

Standard FOB off letter. Do not take any notice.:D
