Well I sent my letters off today for OH to try and reclaim ppi on his credit cards and loan. It cost me a few quid at the Post Office and I could hear people behind me tutting at how long I was taking but I'm glad I have finally got round to sending the letters off.
I used the standard template one for now with the reason for mis-selling as OH is self employed, we'll probably get letters back telling us to  OFF but hey it's worth a try.
We are on a DMP at the minute and hope it doesn't sound wrong but any money credited to our total will be a bonus so I'm up for the fight!I have found old terms and conditions for Halifax loan which we took out in 2006 and it states about paying out for self employed if your business ceases to trade, well OH never owned his own business so please wish us luck.
I feel daft trying to fight it out now and admit its solely because we started to struggle with payments but we never truly fully understood the meaning behind ppi until now, I know I know, should have read the small print, should have done a lot of things but hey ho!
wish me luck xxx
Good luck Toffee Penny. Your reasons for trying to claim dont matter, if they mis sold you thats your money and you fight for it .xDS1 12/10/04

Hi
I dont know if anyone remembers me I was speaking about Barclaycard PPI which their first letter they snet a final response which I have now forwarded on to the Financial Ombudsman - well I am having aproblem now with Northern Rock
I have PPI which I pay £89 a month on and Northern Rock tell me its through Cardiff Pinnacle so I write a letter to Cardiff and they say it was sold through Northern Rock, then Northern Rock send me a letter saying they cant find my PPI so I write back with the reference number, then they phoned me this morning and said they still cant find it they said check your bank direct debit - so I check the direct debit and the reference on it is exactly the same as the reference I have given them AND I have enclosed a photocopy of my policy and they are still saying they cant find it! !!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Looks like my final PPI claim (third) has been upheld! Not sure about the amount yet but I'm very happy. Thanks to you all again for your help and encouragement. The angry letter I sent to Abbey in response to their stupid questionnaire worked a treat! I wouldn't have had the motivation to follow them all through if it wasn't for you guys.

Hi Peeps,
Thought i would share my good news regarding 3 loans i had with HSBC:-
I claimed back the PPI on all three loans (i paid the last two off very within a few months) only a few weeks ago on the off chance i may get something, and i got a letter on Friday for £3,214 - more then i claimed.:rotfl:
Also i claimed the late payment charges on my HSBC credit card i had years ago, claimed £206 (inc interest) and got an offer letter for £242:T .
I am so happy, it wouldn't be possible without Martins helps and you guys.
I have a few more claims in the pipeline so will let you know how it goes.
