Hunni you can try to reclaim PPI from the Credit card companies on the PPI and the loan.;)

I have had many to reclaim some still ongoing, 2 won, and am currently dealing with my PPI on the credit cards for both me and my hubby.;)

Do you require further info here, maybe some PPI info, reclaim letter etc?
Do you still have the agreements ?
And lastly can you remember the years when you had taken out the loan and credit cards by any chance?;)

Thanks for the info. I have some of the original agreements, others I don't. Some mention payment protection in the small print, other don't.

I can download the templates from this website for the reclaim letter - thanks. The loan I am sure I didn't pay any PPI (although I did have a black horse loan for a car which is bound to have had PPI on it) but the credit cards are a different story!

One more thing, I noticed another thread about claiming from Black Horse, has anyone claimed from Dell ?!

I have now checked and checked this amount and there is definately £500 charged at the settlement that is over what it works out using rule of 78 so I really think they are wrong here. The adjudicator has said that it can go before the Ombudsman but surely the adjudicator would be able to check the figures himself. . He seemed quite happy that I had given him the way that I had calculated the refund due in full and said that he would get back to me when he hears from the co-op. I assume this will be quite quick and they will either agree or disagree and then I assume it goes further. You have to remember though that these are goodwill offers...so maybe the adjudicator has not looked at anything yet.. .

I am so glad you are challenging them. I have tried and got nowhere as you know. They are taking the figures of these lenders and not checking them. They just go along with what they say. Think as long as they do and nobody challenges they get their statistics up. Good for you. I am proud of you. I am at the moment looking at other ways. e.g Legal:eek: Cause I am cheesed off at having the mickey taken out of me.:T

I just hope they do see that Di.. I really do as we need this money like yesterday but £2300 difference is too much to give up on.. .

If I am wrong then I hold my hands up and apologise but I really believe (not just cause the method that tiggrae used says it) that they are wrong as I have calculated this by the loan and interest and then taken away the repayments made against the loan and then calculated using rule of 78 calculator and there is £500 difference on the 1999 loan. It proves that their way of redressing is under cutting the consumer.
I think your calculations are spot on you are very clever well done Marshallka;)

  • I emailed the FOS today to find out what was happening with my Sainsburys complaint and the reponse I got was '6-9 months or more if more complicated' (do you think they could tell whether it be before or after 2015?). Obviously the standard response of, "We'll put your comments on file......................bla bla bla"

What s annoying to me is that one of the issues is that I believe that Sainsburys are in breach of the OFT Guidance on Debt Collection by reporting info about this account to 3rd parties, as well as applying interest while the account is in dispute. Despite struggling financially (because it has taken Edinburgh Council 5 years to send me the details of the sum due of the year I claimed council tax benefit - which I'm now paying at £130 extra per month for another 5 months), I'm still paying Sainsburys the minimum each month while the OFT Guidance would suggest I don't need to! Can I get them to adhere to that? Nope. 23 recorded delivery letters later and still no luck in getting them to abide by that!!!

Sorry, not really contributng to this thread but just having a bloody-minded rant!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

But surely the FOS can work these back by taking the loan and adding up the repayments made and checking what you paid at settlement... Its not too hard to do as there are numerous rule 78 calculators for older loans like mine. I just hope they see it like I do... at first I was going to accept (which is what most people do!!) but then I thought that I could calculate the loan alone without the PPI and this is what I did and we were charged an extra £500 more than what it works on the rule so that is my grievance on that loan and likewise on the other ones too...

My hubby says tonite that the FOS should check these figures when they have the case... this would then stop these cases going backwards and forwards...:confused:

I do quite agree but I also know that they do not. They take on what lenders say and just mediate.
