I have a few store cards all with GE money, I did put a claim in two years ago because of illness, they did pay the money into the accounts, but I thought that PPi's were to pay your monthly payments if you were unable to work because of a reduction in wages, i still had to pay the minimum amount every month. is this right, & can I still put a claim in? I am still paying the monthly PPI on all the cards:confused:
What reasons did they give for not paying out. They are to cover you for unemployment dreamer but don't think it pays for reduction in hours... .

    rant rant

I feel so blummin angry at the Ombudsman Service not checking figures back from these firms. Or am i wrong in that they are only mediators. I was told I would be put back into the position as if I never had the PPI and they have not as they have left the interest charged on the PPI at settlement in the settlement figure and if I had not double checked and checked again I would have been ripped off here. Why does no-one check these redresses....

I have sent a letter to the adjudicator and sent it by email too and rang as well and not heard back yet. I just hope he listens to me and double checks them back himself and he will see.

Just spoken to my adjudicator and he has said to me that what I have sent in the email is absolutely what was needed. He had now sent this over to the co-op and will await their reply. I have just said that they have to SEE they are wrong... He has said that it can now go to the Ombudsman if needed so will just have to wait a bit longer but I feel that £2300 is a lot of money to be deprived of by accepting so I will chance it. I know they have included in their calculation of the settlement another £500 from somewhere on the 1999 loan as I do have a breakdown of the settlement for that loan and that £500 is what I am short of in there redress. I just want this proving otherwise and really cannot see how they can...:confused:

I'd like to ask a question.

If you have had credit cards in the last 6 years with insurance and you have took a new loan out to pay your credit cards off - can you still reclaim the PPI insurance on the credit cards ?!

    Hi tigger_167
It makes no difference, you can reclaim on any finance you believe you were mis sold with, even if the accounts are settled.;)

hi i am after some more advice.barclays have offered me my ppi back and i just want to make sure they have offered the correct amount as i worked it out to be more.
    cash loan premium loan
    amount of loan £7500.00 + £1788.92 =£9288.92
    total amount payable £10,597.20 £2,527.20
    monthly repayment £176.62 + £42.12 =£218.74
total charge for credit £3,097.20 £738.28
    interest rate 14.538% p.a

hope that makes sense.i just copied how it is written on the agreement!!!
this is what they have offered back.....
full refund of ppi premium = £1788.92
plus interest incurred on premium loan = £426.61
    plus 8% interest of £77.50

    Hi hun
I am not good when it comes to calculations, but I am sure this will be checked for you shortly.

Just sent the above to the Adjudicator

Good glad you done that, now I remember when I asked my Adjudicator (Nemo) to check mine, they had got back to me to say another payment was owed as it was not the correct amount, so this was rectified and another cheque followed within 14 days after receiving the original first one.;)

Hope they realise this now hun and they should do.;)

Hun when this happened to me, it did not take that long, fingers crossed it will be the same for you, afterall they are actually dealing with your case now and cannot push it to the one side, so if the adjudicator sees these calculations, they should most certainly agree.......if this is the case then this will be dealt with immediately, it will only go on to the ombudsman himself if the firm does not agree, but I think they will then have to go by these calculations which are the correct ones.;)

    Hi there all

Not posted for a while, just been waiting the 8 weeks for final response from ocean finance to my two claims. needless to say they have told me to get lost and I have now lodged both claims with the FOS

both where single premium and did not run for the full term of the loans and I paid both off early so I am hoping for a fairly quick decision from the FOS on these two, fingers crossed anyway
