    Good luck hun, realistically they should respond by 8 weeks, if not then go straight to the Financial ombudsman service, if its a fob off letter you receive, for example "you must have been aware because you signed, blah, blah, blah, , they may give you the opportunity to write to them again with more information, and they should then send you a final decision with a FOS leaflet enclosed.

    Let us know when you hear and we will take it from there hun.
    Have you already done the letter ? I can't remember, if not and you require a template, let us know and we shall post you the link.;)

    Yep all posted - both recorded delivery :-) Also I work at the university where I studied so can very easily obtain documents to prove I was a fulltime student if they ask for it. I am a determined littleluc today :-)

  • Thanks for that, It gets a bit confusing the deeper you get into these things.
    The FOS have given me the phone number for them so I will give them a ring now and see what they have to say.

    The FLA is the Finance and Leasing Association. It has members that are voluntary to it and it gives certain codes of practice (each code for certain years can be obtained from the web site as there are different ones that they should follow) for them to follow. I have only ever heard of one case that has won a battle with someone through the FLA and that was catinthehat...


    The lending code

    Our Lending Code sets out standards of good practice for the finance and leasing industry. It is intended to reassure anyone who applies for finance from full members that they are doing business with reputable organisations. It sets out the key commitments and principles which we expect our members to follow, with good sense and in the spirit of the code. To be a full member, members must keep to the code (where relevant) at all times.

    yes every letter was recorded, they sent a response to the 1st denying ms-selling, but not responding to my request for all documentaion of my accounts existing & past. all letters sent since have not been acknolegded.
    complained to fla waiting for there response.
