getting PPI from la redoute - i am actually doing on behalf of my daughter. she (usually) never takes out insurance on anything although they say she has, she signed it, she agreed etc, but they havent sent any proof of anything being signed for. my daughter has a serious long term condition - several vertebrae in her back have fused together and she is often completely incapacitated for weeks on end - and therefore wouldnt be able to claim. she has been like this since her early twenties and she is now 38. certainly from before the insurance was (allegedly) taken out.
is what they are saying, correct. and why would the FSA not be happy, and NOT the FOS.xx0 -
have just read the link to redcats - they have been naughty havent they - so would someone please give me a rough letter to send them, mentioning all of this in it?? its not a huge amount ; a couple of hundred pounds, but its a lot to my daughter and they shouldnt have had it anyway!!! help with a letter would be really good. she certainly cant afford to take them to court, and her income is just above the amount for free court fees. it certainly wasnt explained to her (if the PPI was ever discussed anyway) that she couldnt claim for a long stretch off with her back!!!0

I can't find any info of who they were under( jurisdiction), they were only regulated by the FSA on 14 Jan 2005, they were fined in 2006 for the same things you have mentioned.
If they were not members of the GISC which FOS took over then FOS would not look at your complaint because of the jurisdiction, this part is the most annoying. The FSA would not be happy as the company has already been fined for not treating customers fairly. It does not sound like they have treated you fairly reading what they have said to you.
Also whether they say she signed or agreed does not make any difference they also had a duty of care and attention, companies always try and pass the buck.
The ppi should also have been explained fully, however some companies just put the ppi on without telling any customers or did not explain the exclusions.
Have you been sent/requested any info from them?:wave:0 -
Welcome Di your lappy again :rotfl::wave:0

Di what do you think of sandraroffey post:
Companies house shows them all living at the same address, however FSA register shows Redcats have been fined and La redoute is showing another address different from what I've seen on companies house. But under principles on fsa register is shows redcats?
Its all a little confusing
Hi hun
I can't wait for my new puter.....:D :j .
Oh dear, yes I see what you mean (Sandraroffey's post), maybe worth checking it out in the "London Gazette" online, when this lappy allows me to get on with stuff on here I will try to check it out.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Have you used the template letters on this site? they are really good you could add a little more info about them being fined and about them not treating you fairly, just to rub a little salt in the wounds, also state you have sent a copy of the letter to the FSA, see what comes back.
I think La Redoute are a rep for redcats which means that redcats take responsibility for la redoutes actions:wave:0 -

Right hun, my puter is playing games with me right now and one of us will be happy to get a letter sorted out, we shall try to get something sorted for tomorrow, I will re-read your posts and see what I can do, or maybe if one of the others here want to also write one you can choose any one you want.
My puter is having a habit of shutting itself down on me and its so frustrating when writing a post I have to start all again......, but yet we will try to get this looked into.;)
If you don't hear from me you know its because of having problems and post up again to remind us all here, cheers hun.;)
Like what dreamer also said there is also a template many use to help with a letter, just add your own reasons, check this link out here and you will also find a template letter there:

According to the FSA register la redoute is a rep for redcats, I was trying to figure out how they were linked and this is how lol:wave:0 -
