    Hi
i have recently recieved a reply from first plus with ref to me complaining to the ombudsman about being mis-sold the ppi loan.first plus have finally replied saying they did not mis sell the policy but if i want to cancel i will get £1164.93 and a gesture from them of £3562.86 which will come directly off my loan. the policy was £11000 from when i took it out in 2006. could any one tell me is this something i should accept even though it makes very little impact on my loan or should i continue with the obudsman.
    please help

    Hi there and Welcome.
Another one about First Plus then........
Do you think you could request a copy of the written breakdown from them, we can see what is what with this then, they should be able to provide you with these.

However if mis sold they should pay back every penny, so if your not happy and they will not budge stay with the FOS.

I would continue with the FOS hun, but if you get in touch with the FOS to make them aware as they would have to know I assume.

  • thanks foryour reply, they say they are offering £1164.93 as a normal rebate based on cancellation of the policy and a gesture of goodwill of a further £3562.86, our loan was for £45000 with the ppi for £11000. they have said this is the final offer and have said at the end of their letter i have 6 months to contact the fos if i am unhappy with their offer.

Blimey there's a difference in the amount:eek: , I'm afraid if that were mine hun it would be left to the FOS to sort out.

I will give you an example of mine, one of mine was for £55K, the ppi was for under £11K, this was left to the FOS, they resolved this and I received just under £13K back with interest.
Hun its a lot of money your PPI, for them to make an offer is something but in my personal opinion there is a lot more to reclaim.

Marshallka will be back at some point tomorrow and I am sure she will have her say.;)

The choice is yours hunni, and I know you will kick yourself if you know you have a good case and you could reclaim every penny back that was added to your loan in the first place.

See what Marshallka says about this tomorrow with her opinion.;)

  • thanks very much for your advice. i will wait for for Marshallka reply tommorow. the loan is still going. we wanted to lower our payments as they have been going up and up even though the interest rates have been going down, i understand that the loan is not linked but it seems first plus want you to go under so they can take everthing, is there any other advice you can offer,

Yes your right there and Marshallka will tell you more as she is another member here that has problems with these.
When it comes to money - they are cheapskates and hardly give a penny back to what I know of them, and when settling loans with them, the rebate is nothing compared to the amount of PPI.

However, you say your loan is still active, so this may be a little different then, the rebate they offer may be right here but as Marshallka know how this company work I am sure she will be the one to help you deal with this company.;)

Marshallka may also suggest you try to request for the figures, such as a written breakdown to make sure what they are offering you back is fair.
Either way she will be able to give some useful info on this for you at some point tomorrow.;)

Was it First plus that arranged the loan or a loan broker?

Welcome hun and feel free to post anytime, if you can think of anything else regarding ppi you think you may have been mis sold, even with credit cards, store cards catalogues etc.

This is Marshallka's main posting forum, she is here everyday.;)
And yes I am sure she will post back to you tomorrow, keep a look out, not sure what time your able to get back here tomorrow, there may be many pages gone by but look through anyway, Marshallka tends to look through all the posts, and amazing with her feedback.:D
