Anyone claiming for older polices are like mine and dreamers and the newer ones are of Barclays. The older (very old ones) had this term in that was unfair and not in plain english... ALso something else dodgy about them too (I feel something with FOS!!!). I want to write and ask for my details from Lloyds who should still hold this...I think FOS are doing this on my behalf when they get round to it..

Have you wrote to firstplus to ask them for the insurer details? If not could you not then pass this onto fos to speed them up

  • Well I got a letter from alliance & leicester last week about my ppi (remember they replied stating wrong a/c no. etc) i replied to that and got nothing in return.
The letter last week stated that they needed more time etc but as the 80 days are up i am entitled to go to the ombudsman but they hope it wont come to that.
Well I am fed up of waiting so I filed complaint with FOS, posted it friday so will keep you posted. Does everyone agree i did the right thing? surely 80 days was long enough to sort it, i cant wait forever on the hope that they 'might' resolve it.
    Many thanks in advance

Dreamer, that is what I have posted earlier. I have spoken to Firsptlus as on my documents it says in the first instance to contact Miller Firstline and they have liquidated. I asked at Firstplus and they said to me "what does it say on your document" to which I replied "Miller Firstline (I knew they had liquidated but wanted to see what they then told me) and Firstplus manager then told me "well that is who you write too:mad: ". I then said they are liquidated now and he told me then to go to the FSCS. That is when I then had the phone put down on me as I had the feeling he was sending me around in circles. I then looked at the insurers and mine is 40% 35% and 25% and all different so I called up Cassidy Davis and told them about Miller firstline and they said they were now dealing with all these complaints.. I was then told to write to them. I next emailed the FOS with this information and was told to not do any more digging and to let them deal with it. They had written to FIrstplus about who the insurers actually were and they would write on my behalf.

The calls during the cooling off period when they are not allowed to get in contact with you. They will most probably say "mr and mrs rang us to speak to someone so we called them back on their request".

I have dreams of PP piggin I.

I just some life back.. I want justice and I want and need my money that these took from us and pretty damn quick too.

I just hope my co-op other two are sorted this week. FIngers crossed on that and that should ease some but my point with the Firstplus one is its 6 years in March since settling and if Fos cannot do anything I want the opportunity of taking this to the courts..I believe we have a case for fast tracking (this went into the FOS in may this year) after being messed around by the FOS too as twice its been assigned an adjudicator and twice thrown back as outside of juridiction. It was so disheartening to be told one day, yes we will look into this and then the next "no we can't".

If we win these then we can pay some of the mortgage off and reduce the amount we owe and then able to afford paying the interest and capital too. (only paying interest at the mo). It will be such a relief and then perhaps I can start to get a life..I just want to keep this roof over my kids heads..

That Firstplus loan was the worst decision of our lives.
