What are the FOS like for helping people like me out? With FP making an offer does it stand me in better stead?

Sorry to hear that FP did not higher the amounts for you, and your doing the right thing now in taking this to the FOS, you can download a complaint form from their site or ring them to send one through the post, when you have completed them take some photocopies, obviously send one to the FOS with copies of correspondence from FP, keep one for yourself and send one to FP, with a letter, to confirm you have now taken your complaint to the financial ombudsman service and enclose a copy of the form for their interest and records, you never know it may help, if it does then let the FOS know of this.

If FP have made an offer it sounds like they have basically admitted to doing somthing wrong, but not in so many words.

FOS will get you all the money you are entitled to probably more than FP would have gave you.

The FOS will see how far this has gone already and investigate this further for you, so hopefully this will not take long, with hopefully an higher amount than your offer, good luck.;)
