If you have stated that in the letter you wanted to claim for your husband being off sick they could wonder why at the time you did not ask about cancelling the policy as if you thought this covered your husband (although he was not a card holder!!) and you did not work then you had had time to wonder about the policy then and question what it did cover you for???. Did they then send you a booklet out too??
I would just leave it to the adjudicator now and see what he says.
Thanks hun
What I did tell him earlier was that I will look within the SAR, so even though he asked me about this do you think he just wanted me to confirm this ?
I am wondering if he did not know what it meant and wanted to know, about the way lloyds had worded the notes.
I have come across a bit of paperwork within the SAR just now, its says
20 April 2004
Cards
Letter
From Customer/Client
Description: Payment Insurance Claim Request::::
Details of this: Payments insurance claim Query.
Do you think its a good idea to email this has an attachment to him.
Now regarding the booklet I cannot remember......I may be getting confused with other credit we had in the past.....

Also they may use this as an argument that you tried to claim on the PPI and although they did not ackowledge the claim it was cause the claim was for someone not named on the card. This may be the thing that they are arguing here.
Just being honest here Di.
Did you state you did not know the PPI was added at all??? They will argue you must have know all about the PPI as you tried to claim on it.0 -

No my argument on the complaint form is that I have learnt about the mis selling of this due to the media but did not realise it also meant credit card ppi as well, I had taken the ppi but thought it was part of the credit card agreement.
I did not say anything about not knowing about it.
But also learning that being a homemaker that this would not fully cover me and I am paying for something that did not fully cover me.
Like I said and like many others here back then in early 2000's this happened a lot and was not explained.
I still paid out for something that did not fully cover me as a homemaker, I am the principal holder on the card, it was only then when I had contacted them I was let down, but did not know anything about this mis selling then, or I would have cancelled it, if I knew I could do it there and then, they did not mention about this either although they obviously state they sent out the booklet, they may have, but I have had a lot of credit from them.
I also made them aware If I were told that I did not have to have this then I would not have taken it because why pay out for something which is costing more to pay out if it did not cover me.....The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I will look into this again tomorrow, everyone should be governed by someone at most points in the last decade, right?
Searching the forums and general web there is a lot of people complaining about Advantage Finance and mis sold PPI and even a few about mis sold Car Warranties, but no success stories, particularly with the pre 2005 scenario, therefore i shall endeavour to resolve this so everyone knows, hopefully i'll get some cash back in the process!
Is this not going to be the same scenario for car HP companies like welcome Car Finance and Black Horse Car finance to name a just a couple?0 -

They might ask why you did not cancel when you realised that you could not use it and it was not what you thought it was. If it was only a monthly payment that you could just cancel and end of sort of thing. When you knew it did not cover your hubby what did you think it covered? All arguments they could put forward...
Mine are fairly straight forward, we had PPI on all our loans but we never enquired about any of the PPI's at all as my hubby has never been out of work. (in fact he was once with MRSA!!! but never gave it a thought to claim) Our PPi was joint but don't know to this day what I was covered for but aren't bothered either as this was sold as condition with no option and all single premiums and that is the end of it in my eyes. We were not given a choice. I have not stated anything else. I was self employed for some of them but have not gone into that. Maybe I should to strengthen the claims..
Although I have not for the reason of they were not sold as optional, full stop, end of. We never tried to claim on any over the 4 years we had them and that they can see.0 -

Like my reason in the beginning of when ppi was added to the credit card, thought it was an whole agreement "all in one" I had taken it as aready explained on the complaint form that if you cancelled you cancel the whole lot, in other words pay out the credit card amount plus ppi.
Like many others who were mis sold for the same reason as me, a lot thought it came as just one agreement the ppi was part of the credit card.
Payments for this varied every month, even though on the same statement, but the ppi were up to about £75 taken off as ppi a month.
I was not sure where I would stand if hubby was off from work with my repayments and made a query for my own ends, because being so slack with this at the time......, yet these mistakes happen, and like others that were sold this being a homemaker, it should not have been sold to us from the start if it did not cover us, or at least if told we did not have to take it.
My hubby was not successful either with his, due to a pre med condition, yet he was paying for it also on his own card.
So we have never made a claim as such on these only queries.
We just wish we were never in that situation to make a claim, but unfortunately it didn't pay out anyway not even with paying it for neither of us.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
