That's true. And if you go by what the reliability table says Suzuki are top dog :rotfl: it's all fairly subjective and you can get good/bad for any make. Given French or Golf TSi, I know which i'd choose though ;)

    its for sale if interested

Renault would appear to be notorious for engine management/electrical issues some of which are unsolveable and/or expensive. For example, warning lights that come on and cannot be resolved despite having lots of money thrown at them.

    See

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=renault+warning+light&meta=

Having said that, they are cheap and quite well equipped.

Have you considered a used Volvo? Many of the newer models are very good and certain diesels have very good economy.

For what it's worth, I had a 53-plate Megane brand new and it was rubbish.

Engine management was a nightmare and when the service light came on every 2nd day, the windows went up and down whenever they felt like it and the brakes stopped working as the car went into limp mode. The blood drained from the service manager's face every time I marched into the dealership, along with a good few other irate customers.

I think all French cars are built on a Friday afternoon, the quality is so poor.

Oh thats just an irate individual..!

Our athensGeorgia is just looking for good reliable transport, not a Chelsea tractor.

They are very popular with certain ethnic groups who are noted for being very demanding customers who insist on value for money !

    see also for example..

...yet another reason not to ;)

Ironically Renault and Nissan are very closely linked and often share parts, but it's always Nissan styling and Renault parts, never the other way around! Talk about dumb  :rotfl:

Why don't you go onto whatcar.co.uk and do a free valuation for second hand cars for this model? It'll tell you an approximate price you should be paying, and will also tell you some pros, cons and a comment on reliablility?

My grandparents have had a renault Scenic for years, and rarely had a problem, and the parts for it during MOTs have been cheap. My bro as a renault clio, and it's been a pain in the ar*e!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
