I would have thought that this certainly would be the case --- otherwise how can you buy additional receivers.
There are three frequency settings however, so presumably this is to prevent such issues.
However - it's a great way to share Satellite -- although only one channel can be watched at any one time !!0 -
Hi, I went a-hunting for the Matsui AV sender (£14.97) in my local Curry's. There were none to be found but I did get a Ferguson A/V sender model AV3030 2.4GHz - Cost £24.99.
Will keep you posted on quality etc.0 -
Wjhats with this double number reptition ???
Giga Air do the 2020; 2323; 2424; 2525 and 2727
Matsui and Ferguson do the 3030 ???0 -
I have the Giga Air 2323, which I bought on sunday from currys for £14.97. (it came up at £19.99 at first so I showed the shelf price and they reduced it).
I got round to trying it out tonight, even though I had not managed to get a scart splitter, only to find I do not need one, so this saved me even more.
I found it easier to set up than the tesco one, (which is now going back) not as many wires, and it seems to work fine. I even managed to get the remote working upstairs first time. It took me several attempts with the tesco one.
As for only having 3 channels and reception problems, I live near a horrible metal monstrosity (or the theatre of dreams as man u fans call it) and I have no problems with reception.
Hope this helps.

akh43 you lead, I follow. I also have the tesco and Matsui (Via Dixons) Av senders. I am afraid the Tesco av is going back. Given that the Tesco box is almost 2x the size of the Dixons version, it amazing to think that they do virtually the same thing. The main reason for purchasing the av sender is so that the kids can watch NTL on another TV. With the price of DVD players and Video recorders IMHO in makes little sense to invest in one of these at anything above £30.
Never got round to setting up the tesco version but managed to setup the Matsui which is fine. The Matsui has a passthrough scart connection, so you do not necessarily require the splitter as has previously been observed. The product worked straight from the box. Because it connects to the TVs via the scart connection channel selection is typically the AV channel or something pretty obvious. Like the Tesco version, this does not work with a particular brand of NTL remote. What I mean, and I am sorry to repeat this, is that you cannot change NTL channels from the receiving tv via the remote. The picture and sound quality are fine from my NTL box.
But I have to confess that if they were the same price I think I would have chosen Tesco as it has a better quality feel. The main gripe I have is with the cable connections. Tesco's sender receiver units have the composite av connections which I prefer over the 3 in 1 av pin that the matsui has. What this means is that you can send sound ( stereo) to an amplifier or powered speaker easier from cd/dvd/minidisc/cassette deck because these are fairly standard cables. Composite connections would also make it easier to send pc video and sound. Further if you use a projector you would need at least a composite input. There are work arounds, the cheapest way is to get hold of an AV kit currently available in Lidl at about £5.99. This includes a scart to rca (in/out) coverter, 10m of composite av cable, 10m svideo cable, svideo to composite converter etc etc. You would not need to use all this of course but I have seen the convertor alone being sold for £4.99Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?0 -
went into dixon the saw 4 diffrent version of av senders the cheapest one was for £24.99 what make were the £14.97 av senders.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
to answer a couple of questions:-
The 2323 will pick up the 2424 signal and vice versa. I cannot be 100% the matsui one mentioned is definitely a rebadged 2323 but if it is, it should be OK.
The video signal sent is analogue and unencrypted. anyone with a similar reciever will get your transmission!!
And you can hack around with the cable to get the individual composite and audio signals (i agree it's a PITA), but the cable set from aldi will not do it (it has a male scart, same as the sender, can't connect the two)0 -
LOL i only have a freeview box so rather than all the hassle i paid £5.00 extra and bought another freeview box and plugged it into my tv upstairs......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

Hi. 1st time poster here. I'm interested in one of these AV senders, though I can't find one in Currys. My PC has a TV Tuner card and I would like to get my Telewest cable signal to it. However, it only has a co-axial aerial socket. The AV senders all seem to use scart. Anyone know a way of getting a scart 'out' to a coax 'in'? Thanks, Ian.0

has your TV card got a composite in (yellow phono connector) as well? Most do. If it does then the video sender will plug in to that with some adaptor/bastardisation of the lead.0
