  • Just watched market kitchen and they were raving about this site HERE.

It's all about grannys recipes and you can add your own and watch videos etc. I bet we have a few family recipes that could be added!

I am posting this everywhere so sorry if you have read it before.

    Hi All,
Thanks for that Diva, that Lemon Meringue Pie looks truely gorgeous. Wonder if DH will take me to buy lemons? Maybe not, he's a bit grumpy after waiting over an hour for me in the Drs this morning.
A nice cold sunny day so I have nice smelling dry washing outside but nothing else OS today, I'm not too good just now.
Sybil, those machine dyes are great, I've used them a few times, I think you need about 500G of salt with the dye to make it colourfast.
JackieO and Beth, I'm so happy for you both I will have a glass of fizzy water and pretend it's gin.
Smoked haddock for tea, fresh from Grimsby this morning. I love it but DH bought some cod fishcakes for himself and was thrilled to discover they only cost 25p each. I bet the cod is hard to find. It was probably just wafted over a bit of potato.LOL
I have a treat for later the postie brought 2 magazines for me. I use my Tesco clubcard points to buy subscriptions so very MSE.
Hugs where needed and enjoy your evening.

  • I have finally managed something Old Style - I have put on the breadmaker. There is a bonus to this - evil cat thinks it is growling at her. She is really sulking, and while she is sulking at that she cannot be a dratted nuisance to me. I forsee more use for the breadmaker!

(((Hugs))) to you MSD and thanks for that great link!

Wannabe - Hester's right, you will need to run the machine again to get rid of any dye! Sorry, I should have said in my earlier post.

(((Hugs))), too, to Smoky's LO with the chickenpox.

Well, I've just got the washing in and it's dried very well, just needs to go in the airing cupboard. I've put some other washing on the airer - trying really hard not to use the TD this winter.

I've put everything ready for dinner but won't start it off until DH phones to say he has left his work for the day.

I forgot the loaves I had rising - they are now huge and in the oven and the kitchen smells lovely.

I must go and put the lamps on - I hate how early it gets dark since the clocks went back!

Hugs to moneysavingdiva, Snowy and Lame Wolf and congratulations to Betheebees brother.

DD had a couple of friends over so made a load of home made pancakes for breakfast.

Remoska has a chicken in it and have some left over mash that I might turn into potato scones to have with it and also some sprouts as DH loves them.

DH was supposed to be getting company car serviced and back for tonight but turns out it needs two new tyres so will not be here till tomorrow morning. Just heard his new company car should be delivered next week so he will be getting used to that while it is daylight.

Made DD two BLTs as she was too hungry to wait for the chicken and need to strip the spare bed and get bedding into washing machine as DD(19) comes home on Friday and does not go back to uni till Monday !:j

Hugs to everybody that could do with one.

Weezl has a fantastic recipe for lenil pate that even my picky DDs love and DH loves lentil soup made in the slow cooker.

You can also add a handful of lentils to bulk out stews or spag bol etc.

    Welcome to Old Style.
