I read that as meaning :
They can't get the gift certificate out in the time stated because of technical problems. They cant tell you when it will be resolved
When the order is complete.....dispatched ...they will refund you the money
I might be wrong, I think they are giving you a refund for the let down and still delivering the gift .....late !
I would get your friend something else......not from Amazon :snow_laug

Thanks I am getting her something else. What I dont understand is how difficult is to send a code for the voucher? They have sent me, in a second email, a £3 one for the inconvenience. Is it going to arrive and still be valid or will it have been cancelled? The email seems to tell me nothing except shop elsewhere :xmassign:0 -
Getting back to the original topic of this thread:
Here is the link to Amazon's refund policy
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/1161018/ref=w_h__brbx_c_1_3/026-2333875-4322044
They will only refund the item whole if you send it back unopened within 30 days unless it is damaged. There is nothing about a refund if the price has dropped

after cancelling it.

Seems to me they are saying that once you receive the gift certificate, write to them and they will CANCEL the gift certificate and then refund you. So no, you don't end up with a free gift certificate as suggested in another post.0 -
So is this correct then as i have just looked back over some orders i have places. One was an Olympus XD card which has come down about £1.30 and the other is a toy for a nephew which was £9.94 but is now £6.94.
Surely they have the right to drop prices if they want and not have to refund you the difference?Darren0 -

Well all mine have gone up in price and just the one come down by £2 and here is the 1st e-mail back
We are only able to adjust the price of an order in instances where
less than thirty days have passed between the date on which an order
was dispatched and the time that an item is reduced in price on our
site. I have therefore requested a refund of 2.00 GBP to your payment card.
This amount reflects the difference between the price you were
charged and the current discounted price. The refund should appear as
a credit on your next bank statement.
2nd e-mail
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk.
We're writing to confirm that we have processed your refund for GBP
2.00 for the above-referenced order.
This amount should appear as a credit on your next payment card
statement. For more information about this refund, please visit Your
Account (http://www.amazon.co.uk/your-account) to view the
above-referenced order. Completed returns and refunds will appear at
the bottom of the order summary page.0 -
