What a relief for you. At least now you can do your calculations and work out where you stand financially and possibly your dfd!

  • Morning all. I've got the girls this weekend seeing as it's Ste's birthday weekend.. presumably he's going to spend the whole of it p*ssed... and it's me weekend to have the girls anyway. Ste's got them tomorrow night though so might see about going to the cinema or something.. we shall see.
No real plans for today. Trying not to spend too much money if any at all. I would love to be able to take them out somewhere shopping or to a wacky warehouse or something but there's just no physical way of doing it. The buses around here wouldn't let me on with a double buggy and the girls would freak out by the noise of the trains going past if we got the train... Tell you what, as soon as my debt's paid off I'm saving for a car. :( I never realised how much I'd miss it. It's too cold and wet to go out to the park so looks like it's another indoors day today. I should really do some housework... I spent 4 hours playing the xbox last night instead of doing the washing up or hoovering  So I should really catch up... lol!

Oh... and I'm currently in mourning.... yesterday the strap gave way on my 5 string bass and it hit the deck.... bouncing off the jack, and now it won't work :( Having a mate look at it on sunday but still :( *sobs* 2 weeks before the gig as well  Noooooooooooooooooo! So currently having to play my Dean 4 string tuned down... but it's weird and feels wrong to play as I always kept it in Drop D tuning instead of B standard... (at this point I'm totally aware I may have lost half the people reading this.. lol). But yea.. hope to get it fixed ASAP... Missing it already :( *sigh*

Oh well. Hope everyone's well and enjoying the weekend... :)

  • Well you managed to lose me at any rate, but commiserations on the geetar (about the only thing I understood) and fingers crossed your mate can fix it.

And the budget is looking good for Dec. Do you dare set a DFD?

I am with you on indoor days. We live in a remote area so I am sick fed up of going to the only local soft play area but other than that there is NOTHING to do if the weather is poor. There is a local aquarium that DS loves but is £5 to get for me and it is tiny so not good value and I don't think I can bear doing it again, yeah a haddock exciting! Does the local library do any storytimes on a weekend for littlies? Ours aren't even open today mind you.

I tell you what I think you could turn your housework into a game for them, DS loves puddling in soapy water and apparently some kids will match socks happily although he just throws them everywhere. Attach a duster to each of their feet and they can sweep the kitchen floor while "skating"? (look away now Health and Safety people). If things get grim this afternoon DS and I will make gingerbread shapes IF I have all the ingredients in. I need to start a list of possible activities for days like these as there are going to be a lot between now and the fine days starting. Urgh

Our local library is useless... we're in a rural town too and like you, nothing to do without going to local towns a good 5-6 miles away. Can't even let them out in the garden as the weather is so rubbish. I sent another day of cbeebies/wii/xbox... frustrating as there's tonnes of new toys upstairs they could be playing with... damn you christmas...
