25th November... Ste's birthday..... one month til christmas
Really trying not to think about christmas... I know I should start but at the moment I'm still waiting to hear about the income support etc.. soon as that starts I'll start shopping but it's going to be a pretty frugal xmas this year. Just buying for the girls I think and choice important people. Just going to have to take it as it comes I suppose. Only thing I can do...
Child benefit went in today.... nothing else much to report really! lolTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Budget Update:
In bank £22.08
In purse £21.70
= £43.78 as of 25/11
£92.12 - tc 28th
= £135.90
£73.30 - left of food budget
£6 - band
£20 - Night out tomorrow
= £99.30
= £36.60 left.... hmmmm...... think the xbox has affected my budget somewhat.... that and the games I bought for it...
Looks like some tweaking needs to be done to hit my target. Egg card is currently £974.84 as the interest has gone on. So to get it under £900 by end of november I need to pay off £74.85. Have £36.60 left over in after everything... so £38.25 to make up. If I take that off the food budget that leaves me £35.05 to get through to next tuesday. Pretty do-able if you ask me... hmmmmm.... I think I should be able to do it you know..Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Think you will manage that no problemo.
the good thing is that the girls are still small so dont need lots spent on them.

Hi there,
I'm having a 'frugal' christmas this year too, and for all the girls in the family I have nipped to the market and bought funky wool to knit scarves, and for the blokes I am making chutneys and stuff. Don't know if that might be any help for ideas, but it has money-saving potential.
Glad to hear you are doing so well. To quote my Dad, 'Don't let the b*****ds grind you down!'

Morning all
Hope everyone's well. I'm not doing too bad today. Feeling pretty good
Ste's got the girls tonight and I'm off out to a mate of mine's work do thing. Apparently there's going to be strippers  Either way looking forward to it, should be a good laugh
and I'm not out this weekend
Couple of money related bits, my Dad gave me a cheque for £150 for the girls for xmas which I put in the bank yesterday. It's cleared alreadyNeed to start thinking about xmas presents really :undecided lol
Also checked my quidco and I'm having £45 paid out this monthWaheeeeey. Now just need to hear about my income support and housing/council tax benefit and all will be well. lol (No, they're STILL not sorted....)
So now I've got £342.08 in the savings bit of my bank account ready for xmas and to cover december's bills. Will then add that £45 to it from quidco so will have £195 for xmas. Need to start thinking about and looking at an xmas budget.... urgh...
Really need to do my food shopping, roll on tax credits on friday.. Really need to do a big shop... I might bite the bullet and do it online.. but then again I won't have the money til friday regardless.... gaaaaah. lol
Oh I dunno. It'll sort itself out somehow. lol!
Hope everyone's well.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Afternoon. Went into town this afternoon to sort the girls' xmas presents out. Just bit the bullet and went. Managed to get them all sorted. Ste was at home ill so I borrowed the car while Ash was at nursery. Managed to get all the presents for Ash and K for £73ish. Then went and did my BIG food shopping at tesco which came to £78 inc £12 for a shepherds outfit for Ash for the nursery xmas play so all in all wasn't too bad really as I got loads, enough to last a good 2-3 weeks.
Not sure how it all's affected the budget though... let me tot it up.
£18.60 - In bank
£21.60 - In purse
£92.12 - tc friday
= £132.32
£6 band
£20 out tonight
£35 owed to a friend
= £71.32
= £3.53 short of egg target.
Right, in that case my going out budget for tonight is dropping to £15. That should cover it
Feel better for having done the girls'xmas shopping though. I even bought wrapping paper... oooh get me! lolTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
