Shell / Egg instant cashback

Don't expect to receive this offer if you already regularly buy your petrol at Shell. That's not how these things work!0

I noticed this instant cashback too - wondered what it was all about. I don't see any note on my account, either, though I'm not even sure where I should be looking!
Here's to hoping I'm either 'selected' (as I always use Shell, it gives me more miles per tank than anything else), or they don't notice a mistake and nick it back!Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0 -
Sent a secure message to Egg asking about this yesterday. Received my reply today:
"I'm not aware of an offer relating to Shell and your Egg Money account.
For further details on what offers are available please copy the address below into your address bar:

Thanks for your message."

Stoozing experiment #323549
Found a reasonable sized Shell garage local to my home and spent 65.84
15.84 on fuel and 50.00 on Next giftcards.
Should find out on Friday whether it's a goer.0 -
Having had my Hotmail and eBay accounts hacked by a ballpoint pen seller (!!!) last night I am checking all my online accounts and changing passwords.
I checked my Egg card and see that I got 2% Shell cash back on 22 and 30 October for the full amount of the purchases - good eh?
Especially as Shell petrol is currently cheapest in my area :j
How could it be a promotion if no-one tells me about it though????0 -
It's on Egg website now:

That says egg credit card (no cashback) and not egg money (1% cashback). If it woorks with egg money that would be a total 3% cashback, which would only match shell's citi card (cashback on that card must be redeemed against shell fuel but it available the month after being earned).0 -

Stoozing experiment #323549 results.
Cashback of 1.32 credited to Egg Money account today. This works even though offer conditions say otherwise.
Now..... can you positively load a Next (or other) account, and request a refund?0 -

I thought it had to. I don't think a credit card company can tell what is bought from an outlet - just what type of outlet it it. It's a bit like with the cards that were doing 5% off supermarket shopping didn't work in a supermarket petrol station, but you could buy a supermarket gift card in the supermarket (and get 5% cashback) and use that for petrol.Now..... can you positively load a Next (or other) account, and request a refund?
But definitely worth doing this if you go to Shell and know you are going to be spending in one of these places...0
