You're right to ask. Let me be more exact: 7 months during which heating is necessary in Manchester vs 5 months when it usually isn't0

Oct-Mar!
Better to err on the side of caution and overestimate heating needs.0 -
For the last 5 years, it's been early/mid-October to mid/late April. Not the same amount of heating obviously, Nov-Feb is the heaviest. But I'm following MagentaSue's advice: overestimate and be happy when you can turn the heating off earlier!!0

Fair enough
. Didn't think March and April were that cold this year just wet, I got married in early March and it wasn't that cold then, and it wasn't that cold until the last week of October in my opinion.

Should you still be using Click 5? Wouldn't Click 6 be cheaper for you?
Hi Kim
My Switch is fairly new Bg took over the Gas and Elecy about 10 days ago. They haven't informed me by letter yet that the rates have gone up from when I initiated the switch. So I will switch again and asked them to bill me at the old rates when I'm finally informed by mail.
I am assuming this is ok to do judging by a few other threads.0 -

From what I have read, I think the '65 day rule'(payment at old tariff rates) only applies if you switch from BG to another company.
I don't think it applies if you switch from Click 5 to Click 6.
Not certain about that though, perhaps you should check?0 -
These figures on how many kWh used per day are fairly meaningless unless the size of the property, insulation standards, temperature maintained and type of occupation(all day or out at work) are taken into account.
I suspect it uses more gas to keep Buckingham Palace at 24C than a bedsit at 16C!!0 -

How many months does everyone else have theirs on?
Seven days some years (literally), seven weeks at most most years. Seven months is just crazy. If you're wealthy and can afford to do that, then bully for you. Seems a shocking unnecessary waste to me.0
