Help needed from 100 serious deals and bargains junkies

  • My understanding is if you are selected, when you visit the forums you will see an additional button titled 'I rate it'.

When you spot a significantly good / moneysaving deal, you click the 'I rate it' button. There is no limit to the number of posts you can rate.

This will then send a trigger to the editoral team who will consider its inclusion in to the weekly email and/or deals section.

You will hopefully be able to see what posts other volunteers have voted for in the different sections as well.

    Hopefully that helps.

Details on 'who can do it?', can be found on Martins 1st post.

So as I read the above and also Martins post the 100 regular money savers will be able to "Rate" a deal leaving the remaining millions of users to this site without a say.

I assume that the 100 "SPECIAL ONES" will be split equally (50 Male/50 Female)

What if the deal is only on for say half a day or as most times first come first served.
These quick bargains will only be accessable to the "Special Ones"
Think Martin should have sat down and gone through the whole procedure before posting.

Stop trying to play catch up with other sites
This site works as it is

If it aint broke don't fix it
  • Martin's filming It Pays To Watch at the moment so can't reply but hopefully I can clear up a misunderstanding here.

There will be no difference to what's actually on the forum.

The only difference will be that these 100 people will have a button they can click which will let the editorial team know about bargains mentioned on here they like the look of.

I hope that helps clear things up

    Andrea :)

The HUKD thing is pretty hit and miss. Good in theory, but ruined by the users.
So yeah, something similar to what HUKD do, but with the nicer crowd we have over here, would be cool.

    Dear me

Its rather frustrating to do something with some of these comments. Currently we ask regulars to let us know if they spot something good. Now we're giving some regulars a button to automate it - to make the process quicker.

As always my team and I make the final decisions - but we hoped the wider net will allow us to bring even more MoneySaving. If you'd like to help us - PM Andrea... if not... that's cool too!

    Andrea :)

    Understand first point about forum.

So these "Special ones" will have a button added so that they can inform the editorial team about bargains mentioned on MSE.
In theory good idea but like before if a bargain is only there for a matter of minutes what good is that?
Is this going to be spread throughout the whole of MSE or just on Quick Grabbit while you can
This is open to abuse and will lead to a lot of people arguing over trivial things.
Will not PM Andrea, will just watch from the sidelines as anarchy descends.

  • I did PM Andrea, I'd love to help.

JAB, from what I gather having actually read what Martin and Andrea have said, all these buttons will do will just flag up a thread for the MSE Editorial team to see if they want to add it to the week's newsletter. ONe person's opinion is not the be all and end all so it won't be open to abuse, and as Martin and the rest of the MSE team will have the final say anyway, nothing inappropriate will slip through the net. It's just a way for us to help them out as they're so busy they can't keep up with all the threads in Grabbit, Vouchers and Freebies forums.
