What’s it all about?
We’re planning to build a new tool where regular Forumites will be able to flag up to us top deals, vouchers, freebies and bargains. To do this we need the help of around 100 serious bargain hunters, who will have an extra button when they log into the forum.
What will it do?
You’ll have an “I rate it” button, and when that’s clicked your rated posts will be tracked, checked and members of my editorial team will take a look to see if it's good for the weekly email and/or deals section.
The 100 will then (hopefully) be able to see what deals each of them rate too. There is a possibility that in time others will be able to see how many of our bargainites rate different posts and sort by that.
Who can do it?
This is an important role, so we're looking for people who spend a good deal of time in the forums, and have a passion for deal spotting, vouchers or technology. We would ask that you are a very regular visitor and have at least 100 forum posts.
If you're interested please PM MSE Andrea with some details including what the main area of the forum you look at is and what you’re interested in (so we can build a balanced group).
Thanks so much for your help. We hope this’ll be fun and rewarding for everyone involved.

'Copy' or 'take the best ideas from various sources and try to incorporate them into one amazing site' ?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I also use HDUK and find the best way to find out if a deal is good is to look to see how many have voted it hot.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

so...you mean you're trying to copy HUKD?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
The HUKD thing is pretty hit and miss. Good in theory, but ruined by the users.
Things that are bargains are voted cold because people wouldn't spend £50 on a pair of jeans, or whatever, when there are jeans out there that are a tenner. Not the same jeans, just jeans.
"why would you spend £100 on heaphones!", then voted cold. £100 is maybe a lot to spend on headphones, but if you're an enthusiast then there's no reason you wouldn't want a decent pair. Many people would think nothing of spending £100 a month on 4 headaches.
Find 4p tins of mispriced beans though, and the temperature will go through the roof. It also seems pretty cliquey, and pretty unwelcoming to new posters.
So yeah, something similar to what HUKD do, but with the nicer crowd we have over here, would be cool. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Can we get off of what HUDK does, this is no ordinary button this is an MSE button0
