  • I've got the email too now in addition to the flashing box
  • I am not a big seller by any means on Ebay having only recently started and sold 10 items and I had the flashing box... which is encouraging as it means now I have to get my backside in gear and actually list the things I have ready!

I so love MSE, I might not have logged onto Ebay had it not been for this thread.. so big thanks to OP

  • Got it on My Ebay for my main account, which is registered as a business account and therefore ineligible. Also got an e-mail for my other account, 624 feedback, last bought something on it Sep 08, last sold May 08.

I have been thinking about this and rather than being a bit miffed I am actually angry.

As a small business seller (I also have a private selling account) I already compete against large sellers who get a discount on their FVFs so can effectively out price me . I have rationalised that in my mind and have lived with it. However I now have 10 days where I will be competing against other private sellers who may be saving quite a bit on insertion fees..at the same time as still competing against the big sellers. They are effectively telling me to put my routine stuff on hold

I can't compete with everyone with one hand tied behind my back.

For instance I have some old phones here that I would like to sell on, they were the last set of phones before we all got new contracts this year (I am a mug mother and pay for the contracts on all my DS's phones), they should go on a private account but I won't list them knowing I am paying more than other private sellers.

Ebay are trying to win back lost customers.

    Smacks of desperation, innit.

Hiya Dave.I have listed on the last few months in fact only last week.

I wondered if it was for people who had not used the free listing for items under 99p that was on a few weekends ago?!
