Ultrasharp are Flat Panel Monitors that come with digital (white) and analogue (blue) inputs. The Dimension 2400 only has onboard analogue video so cannot use the DVI inputs on these monitors. All CRT's are analogue.

  • Chico, If this comes through you are a star!!  I have been wanting a budget pc with tft for ages and although i did not order the one you listed i ordered the one below it (del 3000) it has 15"tft and soundbar speakers 80gig HD, 256mb ram and a dvd/cdrw combo drive for an amazing £306 inc vat and shipping.  I am holding my breath for this one to come through and if it does you will have made my christmas.

    Thanks again!

A Flat screen monitor can be either tft or crt and just relates to the curvature of the screen, flat screen crt monitors have no curvature and so have easier viewing as it has reduced glare, however all tft monitors are flat screen so please do not confuse flat panel with flat screen. A flat panel monitor is also known as a tft monitor (the very thin LCD monitor types).  Hope this helps.

PS: With regards to spursfan, I ordered mine earlier this afternoon (about 5 hrs ago) and no confirmation email yet, i put in an old obsolete telephone number for the fax number, how many companies nowadays with the advent of the internet have fax machines anyway?? I should have put a note in the extra info column stating that the fax machine is broken or something.
  • Thank's escapee
I did the same just put my home tel as the fax aswell.

Like some of the people above, I have found, and still find, the Dell website to be very erratic. I had to delete my first attempt at this posting (after it had already been read by a number of people) because the steps to get the deal did not work even though I had carefully checked the steps beforehand. I have tried deleting the cookies, and restarting the browser, etc, but am still not sure why the website produces different results on different occasions.

Funny you should mention that, when i first ordered went through the oceans of box filling for the ordering part only to click on confirm order and the site to tell me i have nothing in my basket ??? I back clicked and followed the procedure again and it seemed to accept it second time around

If you answer your telephone one day then and you get a high pitched screaching from the other end, its not the missus! it will be dell trying to fax you ;D
