It's a tricky subject Valli. I'm sure if assisted suicide was made legal there would be people who would try and abuse it. I do think this woman's husband should be able to help her without fear of prison though. It's quite clear it's what she wants.
My Mum suffered with Huntingtons disease and watching her suffer and change from the lovely Mum we all knew into a shadow of her former self was heartbreaking. She died at 52 of cancer so didn't become as bad as she could have. Had assisted suicide been legal and had that been her wish i think we would have helped her.
When do you decide though? You would have to be sound of mind, what if you changed your mind? I really don't know if it should be legal or not.0 -
Just checking in before I head for a hot bubble bath and bed

I managed to survive the afternoon, somehow, and then I got my "second wind" as ex says and when I got home I blitzed the house with DD
:rotfl: I don't know what happened, I just went for it!
Also had an Asda shop but next time I'm getting it delivered during the day when I'm off. I had problems with this order as well, 2 items missing (multi-pack of biscuits so DD is not going to be impressed and a packet of batteries where they managed to put one of two in ), and lots of substitutions (some much better though, like proper creamy butter when I ordered Willow
) but worst off was a bottle of Dettol multi-purpose (which was a substitute) had leaked over some of the shopping. Refunded on the spot for that and the bottle of fabric conditioner that had also leaked. :T Checked the order, rang up and complained politely and got £7+ refunded, again :j I haven't had problems on orders I've had delivered during the day (except for one which they rectified immediately before I'd even unpacked and realised the error!) but the past 2 evening ones I've had have been missing items or the items have been damaged  Ah well. At least I now have a full cupboard x3, fridge/freezer, and stuff stashed as well
It included this weeks shop so apart from picking up the couple of missing items on Friday on the way home from dropping my time sheet in, I'm done

Evening all you lovely ladies
Am not doing well at the mo as I miss you peeps and just cannot keep up with the thread so lost all motivation this week (again!!!) Have managed to read the first 8 or 9 pages of the thread which is appalling so havent got a clue whats happening altho I did see the piccy of the meet and wish I could have gone. Someone mentioned a meet in the summer hols next year, what about somewhere like Alton Towers, plenty of space and lots to do?
I have my DS (krewmate and my rock) away on his school trip to Italy at the moment and have not heard from him since he went on Saturday so I'm a bit down in the mouth but know he's OK as no news is good news.
Had a good day shopping yesterday with DD, we didnt argue once which was a miracle and she came home with a few treats for being good. Spent far too much money in Lush altho some of it was Christmas presents and now realise I must seriously be an addict as have spent the best part of £400 on it this year and only about £100 is presents. Tell me - why do i have to collect it and why do I just open the boxes, smell it and put them away again. This is not normal !!! Thank goodness the nearest shops ar 35 - 40 miles away.
OH and I have spent about 3 days reentering our spends on the computer as managed to get different versions on the laptop and the PC and he'd been updating one and me the other so had to back track about 3 weeks. Hopefully all OK now and back on track.
We didnt get DD's room finished at the weekend so thats still a big challenge altho we do have bags in the process for charity/recycling/rubbish and keeps. The keeps has next to nothing in it!!!
Right best go and get the tea things loaded in the dishwasher
and get an early night !!!
I will try and catch up better soon with both flying and thread
Lotsa love to all
KazMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Just to reiterate and reinforce Kaz
That's a definite - no news IS good news...because I know what it's like to worry.
Much as my 2 drive me mad I start fretting if they are home late form their Dad's - and they so often are.
he doesn't seem to realise I wouuld worry. He lives 10 mins drive away so after 10 mins late I begin to fret - even if they DO drive me mad when they are here...and I got my solicitor to write to complain about his erratic timekeeping...to almost no avail...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Right I am off to put washer on. Though I haven't done much the washing and ironing are up to date ***glow***and the house is not bad at all and can cope with a modicum of neglect
Gotta feeling Triker will like that word
