Mind you - the funniest party story was my youngest sisters housewarming (M1 Jct 15 - I'm at J29) and the family were all watching me like a hawk to make sure I didn't get 'tired and emotional' - took their eyes off the ball there cos t'other sis with her DD3 and DS in the back of the car - puked out of the window on the M1 and it blew BACK IN all over the kids - BTW she wasn't driving :rotfl:

Then there was the time I went to a party in Leeds...they served Indian food - my sis brought me back in her mini - they had really big side pockets...she parked it with the windows open...no one would have nicked it...the cassette player ejected mushrooms for weeks...

That'll be the title of my autobiography - parties and puking LOL

Mind you I puked in labour too...they had started me off and NOT told me NOT to drink coffee...

I think I had better 'edit for tone' here...

Just been phoning round guest houses for someone in DPs taxi, he asked me to because he's sick of driving round them all with him :rotfl: some australian surfer type, I should have said bring him here. £156 for 3 nights in a travel lodge type place, wow, I didn't realise they were so expensive. I have found him a nicer, homely B&B for £38 a night. :o he just said thank you on the phone to me, what a cute accent, I didn't realise how busy B&Bs/hotels were in this area, took me ages to find some with rooms.

Oh duvet confession, I have started buying thinner cheap ones because I hate to be too hot in bed, I can put 2 on then throw one at DP, the other reason is they are cheap, so when I don't want to wash one I buy a new one (for under £10 usually) and take the old to the dog shelter and they make 2 duvets out of it for the dogs. Works for everyone :o
One day I might be more organised...........

soappie I actually thought it'd be more than 8%

That didn't include meat because I had nothing to compare with what I bought yesterday and it was quite a small shop. I know decent sized chickens have gone up about 50% and lamb seems to be dearer than beef...

should I open it tonight ?

Because I'm in a silly mood, I put your question to the online magic 8 ball.

In answer to "should I open the tin" it replied "outlook not so good"
In answer to "should I not open the tin" it replied "absolutely"

So there we are, don't open it yet! If you jiggle it about, there may be room for one or two more!

  • I have been to our library book sale today which was good - got a pile of books(2 carrier bags) for £3 for my nephew and 2 nieces and a few for myself and an old friend - I was earler than usual but there had been loads gone - they have reduced the prices and i heard them saying that it had worked really well.
I renewed my getting things done book and checked out the charity xmas cards sale that they ahve every year but there wasnt any for the 2 that I support.
I took all the books home and then went straight back to town to go to...............Poundland - it has just opened!!! It was mobbed but i got a few bits and will make a point of having a regular look in.
I then went to tesco's and got the few bits I needed, laura ashley's for a couple more present bits from their sale and then home.
have done a washing but it didnt dry very well so its on the airer.
have eaten and now I am off to the bedroom for a couple of hours but I may pop back and see whats happening.

soappie thanks, hmmm, I don't like going against those sorts of things :( looks like the tins staying closed for now, you were my last hope, my stubborn money saving mind said keep it closed, my 'want to get xmas out of the way so I need to know how much I have to spend' said open it.....bah you bunch of meanies.

Oh with the price increases, our farm shops up about 10-20 % which is much less than average I think, I know how much prices of feeds etc has gone up and that he's not added all of the costs on to the produce.

Toots, shouldn't you be getting rid of a bit more stuff before you start buying :D

How do those of you who freecycle decide who gets the stuff if you have multiple offers? And how long do you leave it before you decide? Mine went up at 3.30 - I've had 4 offers for one item and one for another. I was thinking of leaving it until tomorrow morning, but I do need as much as possible collected tomorrow!
