I took A & W trick or treating with their cousins and a couple of friends. We only called at the houses that had Halloween decorations/pumpkins on display. Everyone out seemed be doing the same, so those houses which did not want to have people knocking every 10 seconds were left alone. Amazing how many houses where pitch black though, I wonder how many people on those were sat in total darkness behind the settee! :rotfl:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang

We haven't had anyone round tonight, though the doorbell isn't working at the moment so that could be why :rotfl:
Have piled my stuff (small pile, I travel light!) on the bed for DH to put in his rucksack in a minute, everything else on my list is done I think. Our train is about 10 but DH wants to leave home at 7.30  to allow a good extra hour as our tickets are for a certain train. I'm excited about seeing baby Amelie

Evenin' all - not had TOO many round but have 1 lollipop left - and it's a drumstick! I don't like them...mind you I bought a bag of swizzels sweets (and ate all the lovehearts and all the swizzels) so I had to go buy another :rotfl:
Am meeting a friend tomorrow for lunch - it was her birthday today but she was having lots of visitors - suited me too so I will give her her card tomorrow...she has had a dreadful time - hubby decided to bat for t'other side (***time passing here***) then fiance dumped her out of the blue...she was very down...

Noswaith dda, everyone!
Big hugs to all those in need and it seems like quite a few here today.
Sorry if I was misleading about being off sick - I'm actually quite happy about it, although some of the problems others are having puts my c****y job into perspective, but the fact my GP offered me a sick note shows how much it's getting me down as she knows I don't readily take time off. IYSWIM. Anyway, it does mean I can see more of you for a while, and possibly even a bit of "hovering" - it's like "Flying" but not as fast!:rotfl:
We've had quite a few Trick or Treaters before we went to the family party, but we know most of the kids that called, the tinies with Mums following on, and they had made quite an effort with costumes, and were all polite.
I brought DD back from the station to get changed and there were some teenage girls kicking something against our fence. DD was ready to "sort them out" because she can be a bit like that. I just asked them what they'd been kicking, they ignored me at first, then said it was a pumpkin, so I said "Right! Come and pick it up and put it in my green bin and I'll see what's left in the basket." They lifted it all, binned it and had a handful of sweets each, and listened when I reminded them that we have a lot of elderly neighbours walking up and down the path who might have slipped. Much better result than DD's method, I think.
If anyone is looking for fleece throws etc, DD bought one from Asda for about £1, which is nice and soft but not very thick. I bought one today from Shaw's, they only had navy, but it is double bed sized, soft and very thick and cost £7.50. I took it in to show my SIL and she's probably going to get one tomorrow as she and my brother were very impressed. Like everyone else, we are trying to watch the pennies and keeping the heating down, so cozy throws are invaluable for TV watching etc aren't they. DS's GF is here overnight again, as she was partying with us, but I picked her up before lunch and the first thing she commented on was how warm our house was. They have no heating on because her freakish mother has decided that it is making her ill, so everyone else has to be cold! This will only make GF's symptoms worse, but you can't tell that woman anything. I asked GF what her ftaher thought and she said he didn't mind as it meant he would not have any big heating bills. FGS!:mad::mad: Thank goodness she is 16 next month, although she has decided unless it becomes completely unbearable she will stay put until the New Year.
Oh well, last antibiotic of the day and bed for me. Night all. xDMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
