It sounds like a really caring place your Mum's in. You hear so many dreadful stories. It's good the staff are doing things like that - marking the traditional celebrations/holidays etc. and pro-actively arranging entertainment etc. rather than just getting them up, feeding them, putting them back to bed etc.

I do volunteer work in a retirement village and it's like a hotel! They have a gym, library hair and beauty salon, art and craft room, restaurant, cafe, IT suite, woodwork room, gardens and bar. They go on trips and holidays and the staff organise all sorts of activities for them. It's really clean and tidy as well and I don't think it's that expenisve. I'd like to go there when I'm older! My grandmother was in a home (not sure what type) and the staff organised the odd game of bingo for the residents but I still found it a really depressing place

Dusty hope you're ok x If that broom becomes a magic one please share, I haven't even looked in the garden since I got back as I know it'll be a mess!

vivw lovely when they have manners, little one next door was with her big brother (for a teenager he's suprisingly brilliant with her and always joins in to make things fun) and her Dad waited at the top of the drive. I've just heard them coming back when I was in the garden, she's still saying 'trick or treat jingle bells' :rotfl:

boddy sounds like you had fun :) older ones are always a problem when halloween falls on a weekend night. We've had one set of older ones who at 8pm were told, if you don't like lollies, biscuits or raisins, tough. Of course they wanted drink money so were sent away empty handed.

Well kids have been bouncing off every wall so got sent to bed, now playing yoyos, I think they're still in holiday mode....fireworks gone off a couple of times now which of course is not helping at all. Dogs now crying aswell. Can see this early night I had planned going to pot. Should know not to plan things like that really, will I ever learn? :rotfl:

Ok well if an early night is out of the question, I am going to do boring accounts stuff, need to set a GC target this month and stick to it, need to do a use up month ready for Xmas......not that I think there is much in the freezer.....
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • ok froddy you are right - I havent re-posted my list have just edited it a bit and hopefully if I get the bedroom sorted this weekend it will take care of a lot of the other jobs as well!!
Clean the WM filters - I'll do this when someone tells me where it is and how to do it :o

mine is near the bottom of the WM - on the front - there is a little whire 'door' and inside there is a large screw thing which when you take it off reveals the filter and any bits that need removing! HTH
