I thought your pink shoes were really pretty...:rotfl:It never ceases to amaze me at what people cope with and get through and whilst no one would want to walk a mile in my shoes I am not that sure I would want anyone else's either.
    :eek:Didn't need to google *** though

Chance'd be a fine thing - been on my tod since 2004!
And the daft thing is exH had been accusing me of 'playing away' ...do I LOOK like a femme fatale? He's going through women like a dose of salts...
Huge hugs Lil_me ...I don't know what else to say - if he'd been MY OH though I would be helping him pack...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Sat here crying my eyes out, DPs just phoned. He's been offered a job and he's considering taking it. Working in a very hostile country. I can't stop crying. He's just bothered about the money. He's turning nasty with me on the phone saying I am trying to stand in his way of doing something. ... I can't describe in words how much it hurts that he's even thinking about it.
Lil-me - hun - the biggest of big hugs being sent your way. Maybe he thinks he's indestructible and what has happened to others won't happen to him. But that doesn't help you with what you're feeling now. My gut reaction is to let him go with the flow a bit and slowly drop in hints and reasons as to why he shouldn't take the job rather than an all out argument about it so that it becomes his decision not to take it after all? But then I'm hopeless at relationships (as my history affirms!). So I'll just send you another almighty hug along with a bucket full of strength ...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Lil me, it's not 'security' is it, it sounds like your DP has spoken to his mates and has seen the £ signs and not the whole picture.

You really need to talk because if it is what I suspect it is doing he will need to be very emotionally resiliant for what happens in these 'hostile countries'. Good luck, I really hope you reach an agreement hun. xxxx
Pigpen, whoaah, hahahaha so you found it and spent it,, whaddya like?:p
Well been to slimming world and gained 1 lb, ho hum, must try harder and all that.;)
Right well I officially went a bit craaaazzzzzeeeeeeeeee and stayed awake until 3.30am, couldn't sleep, agitated about something but wasn't sure what.
So I got up at 9 ish and decided to decorate the largest, dirtiest, hardest 'room' in the house................the hallway, stairs and landing, you know with ultra high ceilings.
So about an hour was spent wrestling the stupid effing coat hook stand than that I thought was just kind of glued to the wall but I found out was screwed into the wall by 6 inch masshhhoooossive screws, I kid you not .....6 inches.
Anyway I eventually won that fight and dumped the lot outside, it's one of the pieces of furniture stuff that myself and OH have come to detest in the house, now it has been evicted.:rotfl:
So then to decorating, gone for white, because it was cheap and opens the hallway up a lot.
Managed 2 coats over about 75% of it and that includes cornices and mouldings and ceilings.
Trouble is we all like it without any coats/shoes,bike helmets, bike gloves, stuff in there so trying to work out where they can now all go.
Shoes/boots do need sorting and decluttering, as do coats but there still will be a few that'll have to go somewhere.
Anyway that, and I folded some towels, oh and cleaned the fire grate out is about all that I managed to get done today. But I'm quite pleased with myself because the murky hallway has been being avoided for years.
Will attempt to finish off tomorrow.
Hope everyone else has had a warm and productive day.:DxxDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Evening everyone
I have skimmed the last couple of pages but I am hopelessly behind with the thread. I have been trying to keep up before I go to work in the mornings, with the intention of joining in when I get back and ...that's as much as I have achieved so far this week.:o
Huge huggles for you though lilme. Sorry I don't know what else to say.:o
Hex - thank you for the email. Tomorrow is the day.
It's all a bit odd here at the moment. DH has been home for the last 4 weeks:eek:
The kids have been at various family locations since last weekend so it's just been 'us'. Trouble is I don't know what to do with myself. Routine has all gone out of the window.
Heard from Little Bruv today. In his hungover haze, when I took him down to Surrey, he forgot to take family addresses etc with him. So he emailed me in the hope that he had remembered the correct email address. Good to hear from him though.
Hopefully I'll get back on track next week......fingers crossed.0 -
Oh - and AnW'smum - hugs to you love - I still have the yellow shirt should it be required

lil_me what a horrible situation to be in HUGE HUGS from me. My suggestion would be to write it all down, your gut reaction, your reasoned arguments against him going etc. At least that way you can get all your points across without him interrupting and know that you have mentioned everything you need to bring up. Ask him in a letter why he is considering going ie is it money driven, adrenaline driven or something else.
I think we would all have the same reaction in the circumstances. Just remember we are here for you so please do not feel that you are alone. xxOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang

SummerMoon wrote: »Went to get keys today, felt very rushed looking round the house. So we just said yeah and went to sign the forms.
Went back to have a proper look round, realised there is only and electrical connection for the cooker, no gas. So phoned them up and they said they are only obliged to offer one source of power for cooking. If we want gas we'll have to pay for it... thing is the kitchen would need to be totally refitted to run gas pipes around so we're looking at £300+.
Thing is, we should have had it pointed out to us about the cooker thing when we went for our first viewing! Not a word was said about it.
So now we have a tenancy for a house we cant cook in unless we pay out hundreds of quid!!!! And i really dont want to buy an electric cooker cos i hate electric, AND we are bloody skint so cant afford any of this anyway!!!
Hugs summermoon, we had loads of carp when we were temporary - they don't care really.
Maybe you can do like mudbath said and get a temporary electric cooker off freecycle until you can get the gas sorted.
I know when we had to have all our outside water pipes re-done, we got a reduction because we dug everything out ourselves, just paid them to run the new stuff - might be worth asking.
Good luck, and just remember, it's yours now, don't sweat the small stuff just make it your home and everything else will happenLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
