John Lewis is out at Cribbs Causeway which is miles away from the city centre. It is open late, but there aren't any direct buses from Temple Meads0

I'm pretty sure they sell Origins in the new House of Fraser in Cabot Circus which would be the best place to go.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

And that's just a short walk from Corn Street, and also easy to get to from Temple Meads by bus. If it would help, Caterina, I could meet you at House of Fraser and walk with you to the pub, and I could talk you through how to get to HOF from Temple Meads - you have my mobile number, feel free to call if you wnat to xLife is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Something else you may all be interested in (notsure what time you are meeting) but at 1pm in Cabot Circus a 'Big Freeze' has been organised via Facebook. Basically you just need to be there just before one and stood anywhere on the threee levels then at 1pm someone is going to shout from the middle level 'Tina... Up here' and at that moment those in the know wil stand still for 5minutes until a whistle is blown. This was done in NYC Grand Central station and can be seen onYoutube and was amazing. I intend to go to witness it and will try to stay still of rthe whole 5mins .. watchingthe reactions of those not in on it will be facinating!

Thanks for that Tracy - but we are meeting at 1.00pm so will miss it.
Really looking forward to meeting you all!
If anyone want a short walking tour of some historical highlights of the central area of Bristol after lunch, let me know - I used to take students on these years ago and can probably dredge up some interesting bits & pieces from the old memory! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

We can have our own version, Caterina could stand on a chair and yell "Moneysavingexpert up here!" then we'd all freeze and know who each other is!
