Ok how's Friday 26th October for others? I can do any day other than Monday and Tuesday, so anybody interested please post their preferred day and we can go with the best option possible. It might not always be possible to fit everybody's needs but it would be good to have a series of smaller regular-ish meets so that eventually everybody can meet everybody else, if it makes sense. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Saturdays only for me as I have several small weekday jobs - I will note details for your midweek meets though in case any of my jobs fall through on the day and I could pop alongYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

Blossomhill I think we could have a Saturday crafting session in IKEA and a fish and chip one-off in the weekdays. Keep your eyes peeled for updates in this thread.
Please, keep posting your favourite dates or available times, decide on the best and then all I have to do is go and change the first post for updates of date and location! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I'd definitely be up for more meets as I never get out anywhere lol
its got to the point I'm almost agoraphobic as I've got out of the habit of being sociable..it happens so easily0 -
Ok then, if ok for all I propose Friday 26th October as an interim meet up in Lewisham at the fish and chips restaurant, meet at noon, eat and then move to the M&S cafe across the road for tea, they might still even have the cream tea special going!
Then a crafting session at IKEA Croydon on Saturday 24th November, this would also give us an opportunity to
1. Celebrate Annie's birthday! Did you think we would let it pass unnoticed?;)
2. Do a shop as it would be only a month to the C-day!
Please let me know if these dates are ok and if there are any takers.
I also have a more adventurous proposition, if anyone is interested in the future, but it requires a bit more of advance planning: a trip to the Portsmouth outlet. You can get there with Megatrain, if booked well in advance you can get tickets for £1 each way from Waterloo station. I am definitely organising to go before the end of December, if any of you is interested I would need to know ASAP and you would have to book the ticket yourselves. Just an idea.
Lots of plans, please let me know if you want to participate so I can edit the first post with details. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
STOP PRESS
Just discover that Alex, Peter and Ruth of Wartime Farm are going to be in Waterstone Croydon for a book signing at 1 pm on Saturday 20th October, well I am going to be there too! Definitely! Am a total Peter-groupie!
Anyone wants to join me? Followed up by meet at Ikea, late lunch or tea, and crafting?
I cannot copy and paste on this pesky iPad but you can find details on the wartime farm Facebook page, or on the Waterstone.com website Under events, look for events in Croydon store. Wow, can't wait! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

That's a no for me, as much as I like the show, Peter doesn't do it for me and it will be the fortnightly visit to mum.
Gardening magazines are now banned from meet ups, I have 11 October ones to read very quickly and get everything done by the end of the month  and thats the same for the other 11 months of the year, plus or minus a few mags.
Seriously though, a big thank you to D&DD for them, a wonderful collection, and the look on hubbys face when he saw them was priceless0 -
lol I won't tell you I found another box in the loft then Annie
I was getting worried you'd put your back out!
Saturday at IKEA should be ok with me barring any meltdowns Caterina shall bring my crochet or something I always have 10 things on the go at once..doesn't everybody
I have a couple of allotment books I just found so will bring them too..promise thats it unless anyone else needs anything??
May be able to make waterstones will let you know Caterina but Lewisham one is looking not doable due to school issues DS3's school has been given notice to improve so a few teachers have left and lots of meetings!0 -
Thank you Annie and DD&D for replies.
I shall stick Fri. 26th October in the diary for fish and chips and then Saturday 24th November and update the first post.
Re. Saturday 20th October I shall leave it open to whoever wants to come along, I will almost definitely go, but won't make plans to meet anyone on a casual basis but if any of you wants to go along then please pm me and we can arrange meeting up details for that.
Ok, anyone interested in venues and details of these meets please see first post, all welcome, the more the merrier! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Thanks to everyone for a very friendly welcome back last week!
