Hi Caterina,
I would love to have been able to come but I am tied up with various things tomorrow and up to Christmas, but I do intend to make it in the New Year, if only to show off my 'bouncy bits' as my DGS calls them and my odd-coloured curly hair that returned after my chemo. I hope you and Rzl and anyone else who turns up has a great time . I think you and Rzl should seranade the cafe with Nessum Dorma as you did in my car on the way to Blackpool a couple of years ago:rotfl: an unforgettable experience:D
have a good afternoon and I promise I will try to get there in the New Year

Was great to meet those of you who could make it - I took a different route home and was back in an hour!
I also found a coupon on the train - spend over j20 at Tschibo and get j5 off - score!0 -
Hi all,
thank you to all who attended, Bargain Rzl, Plum Pie, M.E. and LilacLillie, we had a great afternoon, very interesting conversation and of course an exchange of vouchers and coupons (how surprising is that LOL).
I would love for us to meet again there but as we were about to leave one of the women who run the cafe called me on a side and said;
You know, you cannot keep having these meetings every week here, as they take too much space.
I said: There is no "meeting" I have invited my friends to meet for a cup of tea and cake, I thought you would be pleased that I brought customers.
She: Ah but it is taking a lot of space, we have a room on the site that you can rent if you want to have regular meeting.
Me: There is no "meeting" as such, we are not a society or anything and we do not want to pay rent to meet and have a cup of tea and cake!
She: Ah well at least do you mind going in the back room as if you have any more people coming it takes so much space.
Me: We tried to go to the back room but the large table was occupied (by only two people!) and I did not want to disturb them, it is not up to me to ask people to move tables!.
She: yes it is awkward, but please could you go to the back room next time you meet?
Me: yeh sure wotever (talk to the 'and cos the face ain't lis'nin!)
No I did not really say that, but got quite annoyed that I am bringing them welcome custom, five people on a wet afternoon coming in having lunch tea and cakes, and the woman is whingeing.
Quite honestly, if they are going to give me a headache - and we still want to meet in the future, which I hope very much - there are plenty more spaces to meet, like the pub across the road, Cafe Rouge, and many more cafes around London. Suggestions welcome. In the end it is their loss, not ours!

Caterina,
I'm totally happy to rotate meeting places and will have a think for next time. I can't believe she said it to you - it's up to her to move people around, she's managing the place.
I would be happy to try there again - it is a charity and had a very pleasant atmosphere but if they mess us around again, we must go somewhere else.
